The Scene – Just off the Ferry Building's main entrance, this wee shop traffics in a brisk to-go lunch business. Service is kind, prompt and efficient. The five-seat lunch counter may be tiny, but a cheery yellow paint scheme and lively open kitchen make for a perfect all-day snack spot. – – The Food – For starters, there are bold flavors aplenty in the pre-made sandwiches lining the deli case. Rich shreds of duck rillettes on ciabatta are offset by sweet-tart cherries in balsamic vinaigrette and peppery watercress. Made-to-order egg and sausage sandwich is an…
Good potato chips, bad sandwich.
by MelissaFromIL
Earlier today I ordered the pork sandwich braised with tomatoes and blod (I know that's spelled wrong, but Citysearch won't let me post if it's spelled out "inappropriate word") oranges, with arugula and provolone on ciabata ($8-9). I also got some of their home-made potato chips for $2.50. Sounds amazing, right? The chips were, with the addition of a little salt. The sandwich was completely uneventful. It was essentially a very small amount of pulled pork with no flavor on thick bread wet from the juice from the pork. Yuck. I had a few bites and ended up throwing it away. These star ratings are off too, I'm not sure how they get a 4 1/2 star rating from 2 five stars, 1 two stars, and three one stars. That's a three star average, not including my rating.
Sam and Ella eat here all the time

I was very impressed with the quality of the case of Sam n Ella I got from their crispy chicken sandwich I ate there this past Sunday.
- Pros: It's not Dante's Inferno.
- Cons: I'm on the can every half hour for a week.
worst sandwich ever
by apple415
I work at the Ferry Building a few times a month.
I was always curios about this restaurant when I walked by every time.
I finally had lunch and what a disappointment. I ordered the Crispy chicken sandwich and it wasnt crispy at all. Since it was an open kitchen, I was watching how they made the sandwich. They just took a pre-deep fried chicken and put it in a microwave to heat it up. Guess what, the outside was soggy because of that.
I paid $8.63 for that sandwich.
I recommend a restaurant called Delica in the same building. Their food is delicious!!!
- Pros: location
- Cons: food
