The Scene
Retired factory carts double as clothing racks in this modestly sized shop. The distressed walls, replete with wood planks behind cracking plaster, are adorned with signs from Paris and a large, aging black-and-white photo of a stadium-filled bullfight in Seville. Leather trunks serve as shelves for shirts, while wooden slot-derby racers suggest remnants of a childhood not yet forgotten.
The Goods
English hipster gear, like Ben Sherman shirts and Fred Perry track suits, take up a sizeable share of space in the joint. Much of Nomads' selection is appropriate for city-bopping by day and club-hopping by night. Jeans are not your typical brands: G-Star Raw, OneTrueSaxon, Blue Marlin, Von Dutch. Leather jackets are vintage and all-American. Topping off the offerings, Britain's Kangol continues to reinterpret classic hats for young men who want to look like they've raided their granddad's wardrobe.
