Northern Marin Gem. Since my girlfriend and I moved to Marin County in 2006, we have eaten at several Asian-inspired restaurants in the Bay Area, and Chao Praya is by far the best Thai restaurant that we have found. The service is phenomenal, the portions are generous and the price is right! I highly recommend the veggie spring rolls as well as my girlfriend's signature dish, tofu pad phrik with mixed vegetables and pineapple which is served in a spicy chili sauce. We visit this restaurant so often that we are greeted with "pick any table you like" and our meals are served within 5 minutes! This is a fabulous establishment that undoubedtly deserves a 5-star rating.

At last - a great Thai restaurant in Novato!. I love Chao Praya. For a while we were going once a week. Had my last birthday dinner there.

I always get the crispy tofu appetizer, sometimes the coconut milk soup, always the eggplant with basil. Very generous serving amounts, I should add. My carnivorous friends have all raved about various seafood, beef and poultry dishes.

Very highly recommended. One caveat: the food tends to be on the hot side, so be clear if you only eat mild.
