Great intro to Indian food!
by folkguru at Citysearch
I have many Indian friends and have tasted their authentic home-made meals and those are great when you really want a spicy experience but Saffron is wonderful for those less experienced with Indian spices and flavors. It's more of an American-Indian restaurant which may be why the other reviewer of Indian descent found the food "tasteless". But, I assure you it is hardly that at all! We had a fabulous appetizer of naan bread made with cherries and almonds with a great dipping sauce, an eggplant dish and a potato-cauliflower curry...all was above and beyond yummy!
I am so happy to have finally found a restaurant in this area that we can count on for great flavors and good prices!! The waitstaff can be slow but their overt friendliness and willingness to please you make up for it...just don't go there if you are in a hurry. They do offer take-out and catering too. When we were there last, they brought us our check after the appetizer because we had been waiting so long for our dinner they thought we were done....they apologized profusely, brought our dinner out right away and gave us a complimentary dessert...the waiter also marked on their takeout menu the dishes we had eaten because we liked them so much! But none of that was a real problem since the food was great, the people were friendly, didn't need a reservation and the atmosphere was enjoyable. Can't say enough about this place. Great character!
- Pros: Ambience, charm, interesting dishes
- Cons: parking, wait time for food

We have been eating at this restaurant for the last 2 years. We have love the food and the poeple. They are very friendly and hospitable and very accomodating and the food is delicious. The restaurant is absolutely clean unlike some Indian restaurants. The food is always freshly made with a lot of variety, we have celebrated many occasions there including ring ceremony, wedding catering and baby shower there. We love the restaurant and highly recommend it.
- Pros: Delicious, Clean, Curteous
Worst indian food ever
by citynik at Citysearch
This was the worst Indian food I have ever eaten. (I am of Indian descent, thus I know a little about thse things.)
The buffet was the standard Indian dishes i.e. if you've ever been to a buffet in an Indian restaurant you know what I mean. Two major problems: (1) every one of them was absolutely tasteless. (2) Even though, I arrived at around 1 PM fo the lunch beffet, every dish was absolutely cold.
Avoid this place.
