Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows, perfectly manicured golf greens end in spectacular bluffs battered by the beautiful, dangerous waves of the Pacific, which is where much of Navio's seafood is harvested just hours before being served (much of the meat and produce comes from nearby coastal farms). Navio is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but it's most famous for its brunch: endless fresh oysters, clams and mussels--not to mention unfettered access to three kinds of caviar--are the main event, but sushi made-to-order, rare and juicy prime rib and a spectacular array of desserts jockey…

A delightful California coastal dining experience

by Ronp1 at Citysearch

Sunday brunch at Navio is a true dining experience highlighted by one of the most exquisite and breathtaking settings along the Pacific coast. If I had to find fault with my dining experience it would certainly not be with the sumptuous cornucopia of excellent foods, but with my inability to sample enough of them. This was not my first (and certainly not my last) visit to Navio so I knew from experience to pace my eating and to make my selections carefully ensuring that I did not overeat before dessert. Realizing that Navio's Executive Chef specializes in local freshly caught fish I first concentrate on a wide variety of seafoods, which also include crab claws and shrimp. I also focus on one of my favorites while I am in California, i.e. California sushi. Navio also specializes in offering a wide variety of wines, some selected from wineries in the local area (extra charge for wine). I save the best for last however, diligently surveying the wide array of desserts at the rear of Navio. I am always gratified to find my favorite there, i.e., lemon tarts. If I have a little more room in my stomach I will also sample one of the many exquisite chocolate desserts as well. Now it is time to walk off some of my well earned calories by heading outside and experiencing the remarkable view of the Pacific as I walk along the bluff overlooking the ocean. This Ritz Carlton is a dining delight but does not get 5 stars. I would give it 6 stars!!

When I first walked in the restaurant of the Ritz Carlton's restaurant I immediately looked at the view of the ocean, and fell in love. First off I had the buffet brunch and the food was just amazing, what a perfect selection of food. I loved the variety of well presented dishes and cavier, sushi, and others. The Desert was top rated, every little piece of cake or mousse looked like they had spent hours making, because it was decorated so intricately.. and tasted like heaven. The wait staff was exceptional, extremetly friendly, and extremely attentive! What an experience to remember. You have to experience this restaurant just once and you'll be craving to go back, I know I am. Cheers!

Over the top!!

Navio is not for the faint hearted. First the price is $75 a person including non-alcoholic beverages. There's the typical brunch food in addition to..sushi/sashimi, varieties of cheese, fruit, caviar, dim sum, tomato tarts, italian meats and salads, prime rib, tuna tartare, crab, shrimp, oysters, and more. I loved the individual hor d'oeuvres, small plates arranged delicately and beautifully with grilled fish or pasta or whatever they feel like. I hit the dessert area more than 5 times. There were chocolate covered strawberries, fig, blueberry, strawberry tarts, creme brulee, pies, cakes, truffles, panna cotta, cookies, and MORE. I can't remember, I couldn't walk afterwards...
