The Owner
Osha Thai Restaurant
Owner
Thai food emphasizes balance of ingredient flavor, texture, and seasoning. Osha Thai (Valencia) offers an escape from "carbon copy" Thai restaurant menus, choosing instead to serve some of the Bay Area's most authentic traditional Thai, as well as modern riffs using local fresh ingredients. Besides delighting the discerning palate, our kitchen takes pride in sophisticated presentation. Dishes will be treated to such decorative touches as fresh orchid flowers and carved vegetable accents. OSHA offers a distinctive dynamic wine selection, monthly hand-picked wine list to complement our seasonal menus. Enticing, experimental, and fun.

The Scene
Squeezed into a gritty Mission block, the small dining room is a stylish, peaceful respite from the outside, with jungle-foliage wallpaper and fluorescent lights softened by a gauzy mesh curtains. Blond-wood tables, Jetson-like plastic chairs and black-clad waitstaff complete the mod-squad feel, though the patrons are the neighborhood's standard blend of yuppie-meets-grunge.
The Food
An encyclopedic list of bargain-priced Thai dishes makes this a paradise for cash-strapped food lovers. From traditional starters such as crisp, flavorful egg rolls to Tom Yum noodles with its exotically comforting balance of lemongrass and lime, meals begin with a bang--especially if you request it spicy. Laht Nah, crispy rice noodles and vegetables covered with a thick, sweet-salty sauce, is an interesting departure from the ubiquitous pad thai. Spicy eggplant, a heaping portion stir-fried with tofu, bell peppers and Thai basil, demonstrates the kitchen also has excellent skills at the wok.

This is an okay restaurant. Not one of my favorite Thai food places but its okay. My favorite was the appetizers I could of just had that and been okay with not ordering a dish.

I went to Osha with a group of friends to celebrate a birhtday. The food was good, but the service was very bad. The waitress served us the wrong dish and then charged us for it. Part of going out is the service. This is not a cheap restaurant, so no one needs this kind of behavior from a server. There are much better restaurants in ths part of the city with good service. I recommend going to them and NOT to Osha.

I have never felt so disrespected by any server after coming to this place. My partner and I ordered a simple entree which took so long. The server never came to serve us water, neither he hesitate to give us re-fill. By the time the food came, it was cold. I kindly ask the waiter to replace it but instead he said, "I can put it in a microwave" . I was not going to pay for a microwaved food. He look at us with disgust, and he never came back to make sure that we are satisfied. I respect all the servers, i thought that it is such a noble job but also this specific waiter should keep in mind that they play a crucial role. Im deeply saddened by this experience, I hope that the owner/manager would pay attention to the service that they present. It is not just about the quality of the food but also with the service.
