What People Are Saying About Cafe Madeleine

In Short – This cheery storefront cafe features a cafeteria-style to-go counter, a handful of bistro tables and a short snack bar, where solo diners belly up to watch fellow suits bustle by. A selection of mochas, herbal teas and pastries, like chocolate croissants and fresh biscotti, comprise the morning menu, while lunchtime bites include salami and cheese paninis, tuna sandwiches and spinach salad.

Great cakes and sandwiches!!!
by dianemcallister at Citysearch
I love the cakes! The sandwiches are wonderful. I was served by a girl on her first day of work and she was as sweet as the cakes. Highly recommended!!
- Pros: everything tastes good
- Cons: long lines out the door
Good salads and desserts!
by heathc650 at Citysearch
Cafe Madeleine is close to my work and I love to make a quick stop there for lunch. It's usually really busy but the girl at the register is always nice and helpful. The desserts and coffee drinks are great and they have a really good chopped salad with a yummy dijon dressing. They also have a good deli selection. Love it!
- Pros: Good food, Service usually good
- Cons: can get crowded, $10 min w/credit card
Not Impressed
by jacie190 at Citysearch
I was not impressed with this Cafe at all. I was rushed placing my order and they gave me the wrong one. When they fixed my order, it was cold and bland. And the price was not worth the dry sandwich. Nothing spectacular about this place. The menu is nice, but they do not live up to the menu. I recommend to find another place tp eat in the financial district.
- Cons: bad service, bland food, poor value
The Dimanche
by kemmeo at Citysearch
I've never actually eaten at Cafe Madeleine but whenever I have an event-- birthday, anniversary, and quickly approaching Valentines Day, I always call in to reserve my favorite cake-- the Dimanche. It's light sponge cake with raspberry lemon mousse, topped with mountains of fresh strawberries and blueberries and embraced by a lovely pink and white striped sponge ring....ecstasy with berries on top!
- Pros: La Dimanche!
- Cons: Closed on Sundays, put "on hold" often
