Funky, Trendy and Loud. This is a great place to bring gay or straight friends... it feels like a bar/club but you are in a restaurant. White with pink lighting- very Miami/new york. The small dishes were fun to share and all very good. It's a good place to go to dinner if you want to feel like you "went out" for the night-- without having to hit other bars up. I wouldn't suggest it for a date.
Great surprise!. Went for a friend's b-day. Was immediately seated. The service was great. Especially the waitress, Antonia! The food was very delicious. The fish tacos, the mini burgers, even the deviled eggs... the more 'adult' choices on the menu, lamp chops, shrimp on a skewer were very tasty as well. Drinks were stiff (try the mojito), but the music a bit loud.
Yeah Baby Baby!. Very Mod! Nicely laid out space. I'm not sure if it's a restaurant or a bar serving food. Either way, food was great. If you like the "White Trash" menu...definitely go for the deviled eggs. The mini burgers were good too and the fish taco was surprisingly good. Though they played really fun music, it was a touch too loud. For a party of 2, 2 cocktails each and 6 different dishes to share...total tab about $ 70. It's a good place to go before you head off to a wild night out.
Horrible Front Desk!. A friend of mine was visiting from out of town and had heard about Lime. I called on early Friday afternoon and was told there were two time slots open for dinner: 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. We opted for the later time, and upon arrival, were told that they showed no reservation under my name and that it wasn't in the computer. The two girls at the reservation counter were extremely rude, as was the manager, whom I had spoken with on the phone. It should be noted there were two large parties waiting to be seated as well, in essence, we were bumped to make room for them. Before we left, we were given the option to be placed on the waiting list, approximately a 35-45 minute wait. Go for drinks, but eat elsewhere.
Surprising friendly. I was a bit sceptical of this place from the description, thinking that it would be very pretentious and that the staff there would be more concerned with appearing cool than of giving me 2 seconds of their time but i was pleasantly surprised to find everyone from the hostess to the bartender (killer mojito!!) to the waitress to be very friendly and attentive. By the way, the food was great, and we ordered the grilled cheese sandwich twice!
Sleek & Polished. The decor could hardly look better, this place is truly a new era in San Francisco nightclub/dining. It's fun, hip, a good excuse to dress up a bit, and you feel quite glamorous while there. Little details such as the video in the bathroom and the coordinated server outfits really help make Lime a destination in its own right.
Great Tapas!. The menu is a great mix of items, once you can get a table. Their drinks make the wait pleasurable, however. Try the Coconut Mohito - delish! The decor is 60's mod with white plastic chairs and melamine tables. The servers are all color coded and look great in their uniforms. Are diets for servers required or are they all underfed? The bill tends to sneak up on you as you order dish after dish - although they are reasonably priced. The drinks are also reasonable. $8 Mohito in a pint glass! We wondered how much fresh mint they went through. All in all a good start.
