Once a great tucked away cafe changed ownership, made a change for the worse. The once very interesting people who made terrific coffee, sandwiches, and nice to talk to have been mostly replaced with your run of the mill Starbuck baristas. The quality of the food has gone down, while the prices have gone up. The good bread is replaced with cheaper ones and the slices of anything are paper thin (well, maybe an Olsen twin might something out of it). The unique straight coffee is still there, but unless your barista is one of the last two guys from the old owner, you're gonna get lukewarm or burnt coffee shots in your latte. Lastly, in San Francisco, 85% of cafes offer free internet. That was the case at Gallery Cafe, but not anymore. Now you pay by the minute. Did you really need to cut this corner? I used to come into that cafe, order up lunch, and work for a little while on my days off. Leave for work in the morning with a cup from Gallery and end the day with tea from Gallery, but with the prices going up and quality of food and employees going down, I just can't say anything nice about the Gallery except the art is better and its one of the better tourist traps in SF these days

Pros: Nice location

Cons: Poor new employees, cheap food quality, higher prices

This is probably the only cafe in the city that serves the tasty La Colombe coffee. A cup of latte is my weekend ritual at this best-kept secret cafe. Ask the guy at the counter to show you how he pours his milk and creates that rosetta leave design in your cup of latte. Great ambience, friendly people and a variety of food.

Pros: EXCELLENT coffee, Free internet, Friendly staff

Cons: Tough parking
