This is what a San Francisco coffee shop is all about. I decided to check out this cafe after walking by every day to work. I should have gone in a year ago. Their coffee is really good and they actually serve it with latte art (yeah....they can actually do latte art). The staff is always friendly and knows me by my first name. I really recommend their chicken pannini too. On top of everything, I can just chill with a great latte and watch the cable cars pass by....can you really ask for anything else?

Unfriendly and Impersonal. We went there as a family, our daughter is very well behaved and quiet. We were greeted by the Menu warning of obnoxious children and how rude it is (I agree, but felt this was distasteful to assume all children are like this). Next we found out there was no childrens menu (I'm getting the feeling children are not welcome here). Our waitress looked non chalant and never came by to ask us how are meal was or if everything was Ok. The food was pretty decent but we felt a bad vibe there. There are too many other friendlier places to go in San Francisco. Skip this place.

It was a good place... not anymore. Once a great tucked away cafe changed ownership, made a change for the worse. The once very interesting people who made terrific coffee, sandwiches, and nice to talk to have been mostly replaced with your run of the mill Starbuck baristas. The quality of the food has gone down, while the prices have gone up. The good bread is replaced with cheaper ones and the slices of anything are paper thin (well, maybe an Olsen twin might something out of it). The unique straight coffee is still there, but unless your barista is one of the last two guys from the old owner, you're gonna get lukewarm or burnt coffee shots in your latte.

Lastly, in San Francisco, 85% of cafes offer free internet. That was the case at Gallery Cafe, but not anymore. Now you pay by the minute. Did you really need to cut this corner?

I used to come into that cafe, order up lunch, and work for a little while on my days off. Leave for work in the morning with a cup from Gallery and end the day with tea from Gallery, but with the prices going up and quality of food and employees going down, I just can't say anything nice about the Gallery except the art is better and its one of the better tourist traps in SF these days

Best kept secret. This is probably the only cafe in the city that serves the tasty La Colombe coffee. A cup of latte is my weekend ritual at this best-kept secret cafe. Ask the guy at the counter to show you how he pours his milk and creates that rosetta leave design in your cup of latte. Great ambience, friendly people and a variety of food.
