Good Thai in the city!. I recently moved to San Fran from Seattle and one thing I miss is the great thai place I would frequent on cold days for a bowl of oh-so-good tom yum kung! I've been on the hunt for a place that measures up and a coworker of mine suggested koh samui

I msut say that their menu is extensive and offers anything and everything you could possibly want when craving thai food!

they also serve some good cocktails during dinner, I usually have TY KU which is perfect at cooling down that palate after those spicy dishes!

I happen to love super spicy food, but for those who dont thay have a milder selection and you can always order anything on the menu in a mild version...

I must admit that most of the btter thai places I've been to dont really worry themselves with decorating, but this place has a modern yet casual feeling to it

The service is decent and the food come out pretty fast...this might be my new thai place!

Service Was Very Poor. This previously was one of my favorite neighborhood restaurants. However, tonight, I ordered fresh spring rolls (rice noodles, shrimp and mint leaves), as I have done every time I have eaten at a Thai restaurant, and was brought vegetarian rolls (lettuce, cilantro and tofu). The waiter argued that he had brought spring rolls and that there were shrimp and mint leaves in the rolls. I disected the rolls for him and showed him that they were, in fact, vegetarian rolls...no shrimp, no rice noodles and no mint leaves. He then, once again, brought me vegetarian rolls and we went through this routine a total of 3 times!!! I finally gave up on the fresh spring rolls and ordered another appetizer, which arrived after we had finished our entrees. When the waiter brought us the check, he advised that he had not charged me for the rolls, which I had sent back 3 times and never ate. The situation was totally mishandled in the first place, as he should have ensured that he brought the correct dish and after serving the wrong dish 3 times, he should not have charged me for the appetizer I finally ended up ordering instead. I am really disappointed with the service I received and probably will not be back.

nice ambience. the service was friendly and fairly fast. the food was pretty good. my friend enjoyed his beef curry in panang sauce and i enjoyed the grilled pork chops with mango salad. however, if i am back in san francisco, i would probably try a different thai place.

Best Thai food Ever. Four of us went to dinner here and ordered a sampling of appetizers and main courses, and we were blown away. It was DELICIOUS! I highly recommend as starters the Mieung Kum (magical concoction to be eaten on a large spinach leaf, wow!), fried pea shoot salad (one of the specials), and for main courses, the Madame Sea Bass, the Seafood Claypot, and we had a side of the spicy green beans with crushed peanuts. On a previous visit I had also tried something from the specials menu that was a marinated sauteed beef (emperors beef). Half of us liked the fried corn patty starters, others found them too doughy. The chicken curry was "correct" as they say in France (as you would expect). Staff was friendly, and service was prompt. The worst thing about the place is the bar chairs, which I sat on on a previous visit, and both my friend and I found those chairs uncomfortable, digging into the backs of our thighs. So go, try new things, take recommendations from the staff, and some of the above items! It is delicious! One of us walked out saying it was the best Thai food they had ever had, and none of us disagreed, even those of us who had been to Thailand.

Bad Experience! Hair in my drink! Cold Food!. Have been to the place a few times mainly due to convenience. Had ok experience before but this time just did for me. Found my food cold, my husband's drink had a big piece of hair. The worst thing is that when we shared our concern with the waiter politely, he said that all he could do was to say sorry. Then we asked to speak to the manager, apparantely the manager is not there on Sundays. Then the waiter rudely gave us our check and we left our food pretty much untouched. Will not go back again ever ever...
