WATCH OUT FOR AN EMPLOYEE SCAM AT THIS RESTAURANT. Watch out for an employee scam at this restaurant. Charging 18% gratuity . Check your itemized receipt. They will only give you the credit slip with the gratuity lumped in with the order total so that you won't be able to see it. Their policy is to charge for large parties of 6 or more, but my order was for only three people. They will also go through the motions of crediting your card, but it is only for show. Ask for the refund slip!!!!!

A gourmet burger fix, California style, with Niman Ranch beef and delicious trimmings.. In Short
Burger lovers could spend days sampling every winner on this menu, grilled to individual specs and heaped with gourmet fixings. The chili, avocado, and mushroom/onion choices are popular, as is the cheeseburger topped with applewood-smoked bacon. Fries include roasted garlic, chili, seasoned curly, or curly all-of-the-above (the regular fries are good, too). Vegetarians can choose from three options, including portabello.

Excellent Burger. Tried the BurgerMeister at North Beach this evening and was pleasantly surprised by the quality. I never quite trust reviews because they are so subjective, however, sometimes one lucks out, and the restaurant lives up to the hype. BurgerMeister is worth the price of a burger, the food is fresh, and Niman Ranch (non-poisonous) meat is used for the patties - no mystery meats here. As an added bonus, the staff was very friendly and helpful. I hope that when I return next I will have a comparable experience.

Best Burgers I've found in 42 of the 50 states. Both Burgermeister locations we've eaten in are topnotch. Their meat is top quality, lettuce/tomatoes, etc. always fresh and RIGHT. If possible, avoid the high-lunch rush or the heaviest evening crush, for the same reasons you would do the same anywhere reservations aren't taken.

In countless burgers we've eaten at BM, only one or two have not been perfectly prepared and delivered. All we had to do was point out to the staff the shortcomings on any meal and they cook a new burger at no charge.

I traveled the 25 western states for more than a decade as a sales and service rep, so had to learn where the good, reasonably priced food could be found.

Never looked for the cheapest, simply because cheap is cheap.

My lady has 35 years in San Fraincisco and knows all the great, non-touristy restaurants with excellent to superb food and fair priceing.

BM is a must two to four times monthly for her.

And we usually split a burger. It's more than enough food for the two of us.

BM prices are most reasonable for The Bay Area, but the food is far superior to any of the major chains at any price.

We've tried all the variations listed in their short menu. They are all outstanding.

Get acquainted with the neighborhood for both locations so you will know how to find parking, but this is one where we don't object to walking three or four blocks for the food.

Wonderful burgers and shakes. I'd only say that the seats and tables are a bit a small and cramped, but the food's top-notch, the service is very friendly and you get a 1/2-pound burger for $7.

Burgers are pretty big, so go with an appetite, or maybe split one with a friend. Fries and chocolate shakes are wonderful too.

Overcooked and Pricey. It dosen't matter what kind of meat is used to make a burger if it is overcooked! There is a difference between charbroiled and carbonized! Prices are too high but the burgers are big and greasy, service is somewhat slow. Try a local diner or other burger chain.

AWESOME. GREAT HAMBURGERS!

Better than IN and OUT and Burger Joint and both of those are good.

The Meister Rules. For burgers, this is the Bay Area's best.

The Church Str. location is convenient, therefore in a high traffic location. A short burger menu, with top draft beers, outstanding onion rings and fries.

Consistent quality and the staffs' service would do a five-star joint justice. The Mushroom/Onion burger can't be beat anywhere. We are seniors, with strict diet limits for beef, fries, beer and onion rings. Our twice monthly burger ration is not going to be wasted on second best.

Love this place. I eat here often, love the good food, and the staff is always friendly. The lunch special is really cheap and the rest of the food is all under 10 bucks with a drink.
