Good burgers but don't get it overcooked. We love going to burgermeister as we live two blocks away but but lately I've been noticing that they can't get the 'doneness' right. Even though they use great meat we like to order our burgers medium-well for health-safety reasons. Unfortunately, they have started to come out well done with a charred taste (ick)! We are now experimenting with medium but I wanted to pass this along to people to reduce the number of overcooked burgers they serve.

What a prize spot!. We were in town for UC/SF and just happened to find a nearby parking spot on Cole and Carl. We figured "How could they screw up a burger?", which is how we ended up at a window table with a great double cheeseburger, crispy fries and heavenly clam chowder.

Great music on the radio, just busy enough, friendly staff./customer service...it was just a great little find!

Burgermeister is not only on my list of "go-again" spots, but I want to spread the word. Located on the N-Judah line, there were plenty of parking spots around the corner at noon.

Great Place for a Burger. I love this burger place! The burgers are always great (I especially like that you can get your burger on a wheat bun) and the french fries are excellent. They do a great job of cooking the burgers as requested (whether medium, medium well, or well done), which many places do not do well. It's my first choice when I want a good burger in the city.

Dive Delivers Great Burgers. Burgermeister makes great hamburgers, perhaps the best I have ever had. Unfortunately this particular Burgermeister is very small with a cramped dining room. Tables are constantly being moved around the room by patrons attempting to find a suitable place for their group to eat and if you are standing and waiting for your order to go you are in everybody's way. The other negative is that this Burgermeister is cash only. So, if you want a great hamburger but can't drive to another Burgermeister I would recommend taking some cash here and grabbing getting a burger to go.

Burger lovers could spend days sampling every winner on this menu, grilled to individual specs and heaped with gourmet fixings. The chili, avocado, and mushroom/onion choices are popular, as is the cheeseburger topped with applewood-smoked bacon. Fries include roasted garlic, chili, seasoned curly, or curly all-of-the-above (the regular fries are good, too). Vegetarians can choose from three options, including portabello.

Best burger spot in the neighborhood. Really good burgers and fries, best in the neighborhood, and nothing beat getting both and sitting outside and watching the street traffic go by. Prompt friendly service.

Best burger. Delicious! Big, Niman Ranch beef, pineapple burgers, bleu cheese burgers, fish and chips, beer on tap, several locations, delicious, delicious, juicy. That about says it all. These are THE burger places when you're craving one.

Decent food but fails to impress at price point.... Decent burger but flavor of the beef was a bit disappointing. Clearly this is a gourmet burger -- Niman Ranch meats, real cheese, large patties -- but I can't explain why the beef was so bland. Maybe my taste buds were expecting too much having just eaten a prime strip steak the night before but I clearly remember have much tastier burgers elsewhere. All that said, it's still a good burger, just not what I would expect for nine dollars.

Good food and location. Consistently great service, great food, you can read and eat lunch and no one bothers you. Parking is a tad difficult, but walking is good for you!

one of the best burger places in San Francisco. I think burgers are a matter of personal preference, but of the places I've been to in San Francisco, this certainly serves some of the better ones. The place is conveniently located on the N Judah line and serves very good large burgers and plenty of beer if you need it.
