Good burgers but don't get it overcooked

We love going to burgermeister as we live two blocks away but but lately I've been noticing that they can't get the 'doneness' right. Even though they use great meat we like to order our burgers medium-well for health-safety reasons. Unfortunately, they have started to come out well done with a charred taste (ick)! We are now experimenting with medium but I wanted to pass this along to people to reduce the number of overcooked burgers they serve.

• Pros: GReat quality food in a nice environment
• Cons: watch out how they cook your burger

What a prize spot!

We were in town for UC/SF and just happened to find a nearby parking spot on Cole and Carl. We figured "How could they screw up a burger?", which is how we ended up at a window table with a great double cheeseburger, crispy fries and heavenly clam chowder.

Great music on the radio, just busy enough, friendly staff./customer service...it was just a great little find!

Burgermeister is not only on my list of "go-again" spots, but I want to spread the word. Located on the N-Judah line, there were plenty of parking spots around the corner at noon.

• Cons: Cash only....FYI

Great Place for a Burger

I love this burger place! The burgers are always great (I especially like that you can get your burger on a wheat bun) and the french fries are excellent. They do a great job of cooking the burgers as requested (whether medium, medium well, or well done), which many places do not do well. It's my first choice when I want a good burger in the city.

• Pros: Great burgers, friendly service
• Cons: Parking can be difficult, can be a wait for a table during peak hours, cash only
