The Scene – The small bar's dark-red walls are adorned with funky paintings by local artists (for sale, $300-$2,500). The bar lives up to its name with a gas fireplace in the center of the room, surrounded by three high-backed booths. Mellow neon lights frame the fire and soft lamps hang over the bar. Nooks near the windows on Irving Street provide space for conversation and people-watching. – – The Draw – The Fireside is frequented by Inner Sunset locals, UCSF students and folks having dinner at one of the nearby restaurants. It's a good spot for a nightcap or game of…
Loved it!

I had a great time at Fireside Bar! My friends and I went on Thursday night so it wasn't very crowded at all- plenty of room at the bar and lots of seating throughout. The bar tender ( Steve) was AWESOME- so friendly and relaxed. He made the best drinks at great prices. We sat right by the fireplace in the love seats- perfect place to sit and talk. The biggest draw back would be parking- Irving gets pretty crowded but its really easy to catch a cab right out front. I can't wait to go back!!
- Pros: Drinks, atmosphere, Steve
- Cons: Parking, cash only

I passed by this place many times before stopping in, even though it had caught my eye a few times. I guess I was caught up in the busy-ness of Irving St or whatever else I was in the neighborhood for. With all the rain and now the foggy summers of San Francisco about to set in, the fire comes in handy. Drinks are good and relaxed atmosphere.
Pound for pound - Best bar in the Sunset

Finally.....After years of my own personal disappointment in the Sunset district - (9th & Irving) We 'Sunset-folk" finally get a good place to unwind.....Coolest bartenders for miles - great place to catch a game during the day, or as a "datecap" or after dinner with friends at night....internet jukebox is well stocked, and is the cheapest anywhere......despite it's 'trendy' look, Fireside is still a neighborhood bar in every sense, and is still a 'locals' hangout.
....and finally...bartenders that know how to play well with their customers, and didn't learn how to make Martinis by pouring them for their Mothers.....
Thass right...........I'm talkin' to you Eldos & Yancy's
- Pros: Free parking (UCSF)
- Cons: Bigger?
