Fantastic authentic Italian food at a great price!. Fantastic authentic Italian food at a price that is extremely reasonable. We stumbled upon this delightful restaurant while visiting the city and our experience was unforgettable. The staff is fun, the food is fantastic, and the place is charming! A+

Yummy but unorganized. I went the other night and upon walking in I was cheerfully greated and then we sat down. I was with a large group and I guess that added to much confusion on what was being ordered and when, etc. Other than that the experience was nice.

Authentic, rustic regional specialties from southern Italy in charming North Beach surroundings.. In Short
The Neapolitan expression "sciue sciue" means "quick" or "simple," which describes the authentic southern Italian cooking at this comfortable trattoria (sister to tiny Caffe Macaroni across the street). Classic dishes such as prosciutto with melon, pasta selections such as amatriciana and frutti di mare (seafood), and a flavorful array of rustic meat and fresh fish entrees fill the lunch and dinner menus. Expect brassy service and a fun, family-style Old Country ambience.

Wonderful. This is our new favorite restaurant in North Beach. The waitstaff are just fantastic, especially the maitre d'...he's hilarious. The food is excellent...so flavorful. They also have their own wine label. Having never been to Italy, this what I imagine authentic Italian cuisine to be. And compared to other restaurants in San Francisco, its not expensive. One tip...and this goes for any restaurant...try going out on an "off" night, you'll get more attention and the atmostphere is more relaxed.

P.S. They also run the Purple Onion comedy club downstairs.
