You don't need to eat here just for a view...

...but I wont stop there. I could see the Sea Lions from the pier, so eating here just for the view was a bad idea. I should have read the other reviews prior to dining today.

I had to do something "tourist typical", so I went to check out Pier 39. Not a bad idea, I've never seen Alcatraz or 200 Sea Lions screaming at people. I should have left it at that and gone somewhere else to eat though.

The restaurant was booring, the wait staff was rushed (even though they weren't busy), and the food came out so fast, it was obviously made and waiting. Not to mention that it was overpriced and not very good. I'm pretty sure I could have picked up a frozen dinner tonight and been just as satisfied.

I should have gone with my gut and headed to Union Square or Chinatown today.... Tomorrow is another day.

FastfoodTaste-Horrible Service

I do not know how often the previous re-viewers eat out at 3 * restaurants but from reading the reviews not often enough, with that said obvious you have not dined out at any 5 * to rate Neptunes. I would be insulting 3 * restaurants if I was to compare them to Neptune's. The Children's meals, I can get better at Fish & Chips and the clam-chowder taste like it was right out of a can. The pasta is servered with nothing more than the silverware and the mixed drinks price's are less than a nightclub but if you can not make the drink ordered, like a strawberry magarita than do not offer it on the menu. The hamburger meat needs to be cooked be for it is served to the public and please do not get me started on the service, with only a few patrons to be serviced. The waitress seemed friendly but forgetful and what hostess surcharge, we were seated by a bus-boy. I can go on and on but this restaurant needs Hells kitchen to straighten them out- my recommendation is to eat some where but not there! unless you were there for the view and a soda. I dont think it deserves even 1* but I needed to rate it in order to post my review

Lunch: Excellent view and food

In June 2008 my wife and I had lunch here and we both ordered the Signature Seafood Salad. It was excellent. The wait staff was attentive and allowed us to take our time to enjoy the view and food.
