Small, but perfect!. What a great little hotel---located only 2 blocks from Union Square, it's in a perfect location for shopping, dining and sightseeing. Easy walk to Chinatown, and other San Francisco must-see's. The sign to the Hotel Diva is a little difficult to find at first--I passed the hotel entrance twice before I found it, but once inside was very pleased. The rooms are a little small, but hey, that too is a part of the San Fran experience! Loved the swivel TV, comfy pillows and clean, industrial-type look to the room. The shampoos were good quality...overall I was very pleased. No complaints.
Great Place for a Girls' Getaway Weekend!. This place is very cool. Super clean, luxurious rooms (amenities and space), friendly and attentive staff, free internet lounges on almost all floors, and complimentary continental breakfasts in the morning. It was a fantastic place for a girls' weekend! If you have a CAA or AAA card, make sure to ask about cardholder specials - we saved about 60$ a night with the discount. Also in a great locations. True, the views are nothing to write home about, but who cares? We were there to shop, shop, shop!
Great location, unique atmosphere. Comfortable, different, not run of the mill style. Not trying to be like others, I like that.
This stylish Union Square hotel commands attention..
In Short
Each of the rooms features a VCR, an honor bar and private safe. The rooms are small, but well-designed, with stainless-steel headboards that erupt at the top into the hotel's signature "V." With maid service twice daily, you won't ever have to lift a finger.
Point your nose to the sky!. The website does a great job of making the hotel look spacious and shinny with the industrial look of steel and neon lighting. This hotel has potential for more than what it was. We walked in from a 3 hour drive, to meet the people behind the counter with an unpleasant welcoming. No enthusiasm. Rented a movie for $13 only to find that my rooms VCR didn't work. Called the front desk, and they said that they would send somebody up to fix it. We waited for 45 minutes before I finally got another human on the phone at the front desk, in which they informed me it was too-late to send anybody up. The next morning at check-out, I had to argue with the front desk person that I wasn't going to pay for a movie that I couldn't watch. Rooms had a 1/2" gap under door. No privacy.
Loved It. The Diva has great rooms with lots of personality. Very cool, and they really cater to you there, which was not expected considering how reasonable the rates are. And they have a great deal with Tru Spa, which I had never been to even though I live in SF, but I thought was by far the best spa experience I have had. Overall, a fantastic weekend. Thanks to the folks at the Diva!
Stay at the Diva!. I stayed at this hotel for a few days during the week. The front desk upgraded my room free because I was staying for more than a few nights. Everyone at the hotel is friendly and helpful. The decor of the room was a nice change from the usual hotel. The only problem I had was that maid skipped my room and I had to call down to the front desk for them to send someone to come up, but she did within a few minutes. The rooms are a little loud from the street traffic, but this is to be expected while staying in downtown SF. The location was perfect, two blocks from union square. Great hotel!!
cool diva!. stayed here in august on kind of a second honeymoon. the location was perfect, hotel staff, especially the concierge were friendly. the rooms were neat but smallish, but then again, who comes to san fran to stay in the hotel room. overall, i would recommend this hotel to a friend.
Great hotel, terrible parking. We stayed at the Diva for the weekend. The rooms were small but nice and the location was great. The only thing I would say about it was that if you decide to stay there, call for the valet to bring out your car an hour in advance. We paid $27 a night and waited over an hour for the valets (who parked our car at a sister hotel) to bring our car to us. There were others who had waited longer than we did. I think this is okay if you are paying a discounted rate, but not acceptable if the rates match the St. Francis or others in the area.
Hip, deco-style hotel. This hotel was perfect for our honeymoon stay in San Francisco. It would recommend it to anyone staying in SF, honeymooners and business travelers alike.
