Visit the wine country without leaving the city..
The Scene
The lobby is drenched in every shade of wine. Rooms are named after Northern California vineyards. And wine tastings are hosted nightly. This might sound a bit like an overly contrived tourist trap, but rest assured this hotel will impress even the most refined urbanite. Both the lobby and the 107 guest rooms seamlessly blend cool European sophistication with the provincial warmth of the wine country.
The Details
Each charming and elegant room includes a bay window with a built-in window seat. Although the decor exhibits a distinct country flare, including pastoral flowered fabrics and vineyard artifacts, the overall ambiance is somehow clean and Euro-chic. The location between Nob Hill and Union Square is both prestigious and convenient. It is within easy walking distance to the Financial District and Chinatown.
where's the window seat.... Our five-night stay was in all satisfactory but the descriptions I read didn't seem to mesh with a few points, such as the "bay window and window seat in every room." The room was extremely small, and certainly had no bay window or window seat (there was one small window behind a desk that opened into an alley-type setting). The location was good, I admit, and the staff (with the exception of one younger gentleman with an attitude) was helpful. The complimentary wine each evening (5-6 p.m.) was nice, and the coffee and juices in the morning were good (though hit-and-miss since they sere slow to replenish). The price was comparable or better than area hotels so we really can't complain too much I guess, but given the experience I would recommend spending a bit more and being able to move about a bit in the room.
good value & location. If you are looking for a deal and nice rooms, then Vintage Court is good. Can't beat the location.
Friendly, charming & good location!.
My husband and I stayed here when we were married 6 years ago - they have remodeled the rooms and they are now quite lighter with a more open feel. Staff is very friendly, the location is great - two blocks from Union Square; complimentary wine in the evening and coffee, tea & goodies in the morning - who could ask for more!!
We highly recommend this hotel!
