Not worth the money unless you get Steffon. My sense is Steffon is the star of Episode Salon and the others are along for the ride. Cindy did a cut and color on my hair. My regular stylist moved out of SF, so I needed to find someone new, and I waited too long. My color was severely faded to a horrible orange-tinged medium brown. Cindy asked if she should just do the roots and keep this horrible streaky mess on my hair. I had to explain several times that the color had faded and was not a color I would want; I wanted something natural looking. She pulled out a color chart of hair swatches to show me again that she could almost match this faded shade and just do the roots. We finally agreed on a fairly boring medium brown to be applied all over. For the cut, I wanted to take approximately two inches off and we did the finger compare. After she cut off about four inches she asked me how I liked the length. D?oh! Steffon watched us like a hawk throughout the entire process. I felt like he didn?t trust Cindy to do a good job, which lessened my confidence in her skills even more. The final hair cut was actually well done, but the styling was terrible. It was as if she went out of her way to make my hair as flat and stringy as possible. I left the salon and pulled it into a ponytail, until someone at the coffee shop pointed out I had a ? inch brown streak across my forehead. Cindy had dyed my forehead. While my forehead stripe lasted for a few days, my color started to fade on day three. Overall I paid almost $200 for cut, color and deep-conditioning. For that money, I expect a stylist that can provide guidance and recommendations, including custom color and a flattering hair style. They tried so hard but something was definitely lacking.

This salon is a gem.... I've been happily getting my haircut at Episode Salon since 2003. Cindy & Jan gives the best head massages and Steffon is a true professional. This salon is a gem.

I highly recommend this place!

Best Salon of the Bay. Believe it or not. This is the first time I ever write an review about any business. This Salon do truly worth my time ! There is no replacement, it's Episode Salon. It was some weeks ago, I had a long, stressful day with a headache and the hair was a Mess. Walk into Episode without an appointment. Luckily they could take me right away with a smile , instantly my Jacket was already off . A fresh gown was change off to the Shampoo Bed. 15 minutes of shampoo and scalp massage. Headache was gone. Wine was serve after the Hot Tea ! Manager Steffon finish off my messy Hair with a touch of magic. I was told the same girl (Amy ) which sooth my headache away can give me a 30 minutes Head, Neck, Should Massage for only $40.00. I took the offer without an heartbeat and walking out feeling and looking fresh ! Like an Angle Reborn ! To top it all, did not cost me much. Episode Salon is definite THE SALON I will be back for!

Color blind stylists. Except for Stefon, this place has a couple of color blind hair stylists. I ask them to color my hair brown and they always color it black. I already have black hair and am looking for a "different" color. Reggie and Cindy just don't get it.

Cindy is absolutely unprofessional and she takes at least 5 calls on her cell phone while coloring my hair. Completely lacking in etiquette or manners. Waste of time and money, if you cannot get Stefon to work on you.

The Best in the City!!!. Hi residences of Noe Valley. Did you know that right around the corner we have the best beauty salon & spa in San Francisco? Not only do the people help you with your beauty needs, but they also work on making you happy. And of course, I highly recommend Steffon, Cindy, and Reggie. The salon looks very expensive, but to my surprise it is very reasonable especially when they have promotions. Check them out! Take my word for it. They're awesome! - Rebecca Reyes

Great hair cuts, color and straightening.. I love the decor, its light and airy. Steffon, sure knows his stuff, a great color to start with, then a cut that makes it soft and movement is just perfect.. I would surely recommend this salon for great work on any day of the week.

Great salon!. Steffon is a master - - I've gotten my haircut and colored there for a year or so and have recently done the Japanese reconditioning (straightening). Couldn't be happier with the results. He takes his time and makes sure that you walk out looking great....with results that you can recreate. They are very flexible (I sometimes have to bring my young kids), accomodating with last minute appointments....highly recommend.

Sassy Straightening. I highly recommend this place if you want to get the Japanese Thermal Reconditioning treatment! I've been straightening my hair for almost 2 years but this was the best treatment I've received so far. You can get your hair pin straight here but I prefer mine with a little body and that's exactly what I got. I love my hair!

Okay. They were ok. I didn't find the reception staff very welcoming. The haircut was fair and the person who was cutting my hair (Steffan) wasn't really paying attention and kept looking over to the rest of the salon and getting sidetracked with other customers.
