Tips for Peasant Pies

July 27, 2007

This local favorite offers what they call the "hand-held meal": palm-sized pies with a variety of sweet and savory stuffing options.. In Short
Chef Gerard Buulong of Cordon Bleu imported this compact cuisine from Southern France when he co-founded the Peasant Pies business in San Francisco in 1993. The two locations (this one's sister is in Noe Valley) offer a variety of vegetarian options; some, like the Moroccan Lentil and Spicy Eggplant Black Olive Tomato pies, are also vegan. Sweet pies with fruit or flan fillings complete the efficient meal.

Great food, fast and cheap. Great for lunch or a light dinner. They have a variety of pies - meat, vegetarian and vegan. Also dessert pies. Fast and cheap. We love this place!
