Walking into Oil & Water Skincare and Brow Design is like walking into your girlfriend's chic Parisian apartment. Decorated with flea market furniture, fluffy duvets, bright sunshine, cabinets full of great skin elixirs, candles, make-up bags and other goodies, you'll feel right at home.
Lisa, esthetician and owner, is like a good detective, asking you lots of lifestyle questions to get a sense of your overall skin health. Armed with a thorough skin analysis, she gets to work with her arsenal of anti-aging, zit-zapping and pro-glow skincare ingredients. Oil & Water uses the finest products: Yon Ka Paris, Jan Marini Skin Research, and Eminence Organics.
In addition to superb facial treatments, she specializes in eyebrow design, excels at Brazilian bikini waxing and offers full body waxing with both strip and hard waxes.

A multistory, warehouse-style building near Highway 101 doesn't seem the most likely place to house one of the city's top eyebrow designers, but don't be fooled by the unremarkable façade. Inside, you'll find owner/esthetician Lisa Tabbush's two-room studio, "the" place to go for perfectly shaped, never-too-thin brows. Facials and waxing are also offered, always performed with Tabbush's gentle touch. Yon-ka, Eminence Organics and other luxe skin care lines are available for purchase here.

Have been going to Lisa for many years for bikini waxing and have had facials and my eyebrows done here too. (I love the look of nicely arched waxed brows, but was endowed with only straight little ones, which don't need much taming.) Lisa has a great "bedside" manor - she manages to be efficient and relaxed at the same time, which can be a big problem in this type of business... (too often its either/or). I'm in and out, usually not bumping into another client (she seems to space them well), having had a nice warm chat and feeling a lot more fierce ...aka smooth.

I know how she gets so many good reviews. She campaigns hard for it from anyone who walks in. Oil and Water is average. There are better places in San Francisco.

I got a brazilian wax and requested just a little shape of a pie to fit in a g-string. I received an uneven landing strip. I wasn't happy with the shape and just wanted to leave and fix it later . When I properly investigated my wax, I discovered both my inner labia looked like it hadn't been waxed. That's one of the main differences between a bikini and a brazilian. Why did I go through the pain with no results?! There were so many hairs left, I needed to be spot waxed today and have that uneven strip removed.I requested and paid for a brazilian not an extended bikini. I left her a message. She returned my call, left a message, seemed accommodating and then was rude. I have no idea how she has good reviews or business. I'm an esthetics student, graduating tomorrow, and will never treat my future clients in that manner or leave my client with a poor wax job.
