Great Day Care! Highly recommend it. The Valdivia family day care was perfect for us for the transition in switching our daughter from nanny-all-the-time to sending our daughter to a BIG preschool: its only 4 kids, very clean, bright with a backyard area and lots of carefully selected toys. For us a huge bonus was convenience of getting to and from and decent parking in the morning and pickups. Unlike so many other day cares that seem to service parents that need part time care, Valdivia opens early and closes late to accommodate working parents.

Wonderful Family Day Care. Valdivia Family Day Care has been a haven for my children from the time they were infants until they were gently shepherded off to preschool.

Lucille, who owns and runs the daycare, offers the kind of environment in which children feel safe and nurtured as they grow and thrive, explore and play. She excels at infant care, making a baby feel secure and loved as its parent returns to work after leave and eases what can be an anxious transition for both.

As a child moves to toddler stage from infanthood, Lucille provides a stimulating environment to meet each developmental milestone. At hand are wooden blocks, soft toys, lots of books, music, art projects and age-appropriate play structures in the garden.

As pre-school looms, Lucille helps prepare children for the transition to their new environment. When my older children were reaching this stage, Lucille produced a curriculum to teach them days of the week and months of the year, seasons, weather and holidays to name just a few of the subjects.

She guided our family through potty training, gently advised when issues arose about biting and was a sounding board on basic discipline for small children. As a mother herself, she was quick to spot issues arising and helped us tackle them before they became real problems.

She took an early lead in using organic food at mealtimes, teaching table manners, and other basic courtesies. She also taught the children in her care safety measures to take in case of a fire or an earthquake in non-threatening, non-scary way.

Daycare families remain in touch with Lucille from far-flung corners of the world, such is the enduring attachment, even as the children she cared for as babies and toddlers head off into middle school!

Can't thank her enough. Our daughter has been with Lucille at Valdivia Day care for a year and we are so grateful for her and her family. They are a very warm and generous family and it is a great place for your child to be. The activities are fun and Ella has learned so much being there. We are really excited that the transition to pre-school will be easy knowing that Ella has already been on the path to a learning environment in a socially responsible atmosphere. There are so many great things about Valdivia day care, it's hard to write them all down.

Forever Grateful. I can say with confidence that there is no way my husband and I would have been able to go to work every day and focus on our own jobs for the past two and a half years if we didn't absolutely know that Lucille was giving our daughter the best care and love she could possibly offer, every single day. There are so many ways daycare providers can choose to cut corners and get lazy. However, it was always abundantly clear to us that Lucille takes great pride in the services she provides and her standards are incredibly high, sometimes higher than ours! Her home is spotless and she takes great care in keeping things as clean and germ free as possible. The toys and books are lovingly and thoughtfully chosen, and rotated often. Meals and snacks are organic and healthy. Daily written logs on our child's disposition, what she ate, how she napped, pottied, etc., were so helpful to us, and gave us a clear idea of what was happening while we were away. I always appreciated the way Lucille and my husband and I approached issues and decisions regarding our daughter's care together, and the way we communicated as a team. Lucille has a great deal of knowledge and expertise, and it was great to have her as a resource regarding parenting issues. I am forever grateful to Lucille and her amazing family and we will miss them terribly when our daughter moves on to preschool!

Wouldn't trust my babe with anyone else!. I feel incredibly fortunate to have discovered Valdivia Family Day Care. My son began part-time at the age of 4 months. Lucille and her family care for my boy like one of their own and I never have to worry about him while I'm at work. Every time I pick him up I get a full report on his day, including the exact amount he ate, slept and played. The Valdivia's truly put the "family" in family day care and I wouldn't trust my baby with anyone else!

Wonderful Family Daycare. I very enthusiastically recommend Valdivia Daycare for any family researching daycare possibilities for their children. Lucille operates a great daycare, full of love and structure. It is very nerve racking to trust someone else with your baby and Lucille was so thoughtful and understanding of me and my fears.

We spent a lot of time with her from Jan 2007 to Mar 2007 and I was very impressed with her childcare. Her home is so clean and kid friendly and she has a small but very adequate outdoor space for the older kids to play and get fresh air. She cooks yummy lunches and snacks for the kids as well. She fed our 3 month old daughter on demand and took such great care of her. When we picked her up each day, Lucille gave us a full account of the day?s activities and her observations as to what was going on with our child. Our daughter was clean, often laughing and smiling, and she loved interacting with Lucille and all the other adorable kids at the daycare.

I am so happy and thankful to have found her. We moved and had to leave her daycare, but I sure wish we could have taken her and her family with us!

A loving family daycare. We feel very lucky that Lucille and Abel Valdivia could take care of our 12 weeks old daughter while returning to work. Our close friends enthusiastically recommended the Valdivia daycare and now it is with our own 2 years of experience that we highly recommend the Valdivia daycare. Lucille and Abel are providing a very peaceful and loving environment where infants and toddlers can develop and thrive. They are responding to the needs of each child at each stage of their development. While nurturing young infants, Lucille is stimulating the older ones with games, lecture, songsLucille is very experienced and her daycare is a very safe and hygienic place. As part of the California State Food Program, she is giving the kids very balanced and varied meals. Most importantly, when you will visit the Valdivia daycare, you will realize how much the kids enjoy their day with Lucille and Abel.

Great daycare. I chose Valdivia Family Day Care because another mother in my neighborhood sent her children there and highly recommended it. My 8 month old daughter has only been there for three months but I'm sure this is the best place for her. Lucille is an excellent communicator, loves children, and makes me feel completely at ease when I drop my daughter off each day. When I pick her up, I know exactly what she has been doing every day too. I used to have a nanny and without a doubt I believe that Valdivia's is better for her.

Wonderful daycare in San Francisco's Mission District. When you look for a daycare for your child, you want a nurturing, and safe environment, with clear rules, a structured routine, home-cooked food that's run by someone with years of experience in childcare, who is fun, lively and an educator. This is what you will find if you join the Valdivia Family Daycare, run by Lucille Valdivia. All three of my children attended the daycare and thrived. The focus is on infants and toddlers, who are guided through all the basics from tummy time, to crawling, walking and of course potty training. By the time your child heads off to preschool, they will be ready for anything. At the daycare, the day is filled with stories, structured play (indoors and out) and time for children to learn about colors, shapes, words, numbers, days of the week, seasons and the like. I can't recommend the daycare highly enough, because it not only has benefited my children, but me as a parent in terms of becoming a source of advice and learning and inspiration. inspiration.

Loving home environment. Our daughter was with the Valdivias from when she was 5 months old until she turned three. Lucille, and also Abel, created a nurturing, loving home environment. Lucille also created a true community of parents and kids that we miss now that our daughter is in preschool. Her new teachers constantly tell us how well prepared she is and we always credit Lucille for the fun, security, and sense of structure she gained at the Valdivias. Lucille is a passionate teacher and always working on ways to further her own knowledge, and pass on her experience to the kids. As a first time mom, she was incredibly helpful and supportive. highly, highly reccommended!
