Illinois-based drugstore chain serves neighborhoods with fully stocked stores and modern amenities..
Founded in 1901 in Chicago by Charles R. Walgreen Sr., this neighborhood pharmacy has grown to be one of the nation's largest drugstore chains. Each store carries 25,000 different items--from cleaning products to electronics and greeting cards. Store features include a computerized system connecting pharmacies nationwide via satellite, grocery-store food aisles, one-hour photofinishing and an automated phone system for prescription refills and pre-arranged pickup times. Other services include in-store flu shots and childhood immunizations.
A Well-Stocked Store.
Store is very clean and well stocked. Personnel are very helpful and courteous. This is one store where you don't leave empty handed; there's always something that catches your eye, and you end up buying it.
The staff, mainly Chinese, need to smile a bit more. Life can't be all that serious.
Not 2 BIG, Just right!. Located in a yuppy type of neighborhood it is a decent area for this type of business. The staff is indeed hard working. The checkout can be more improved by having at least 2 or 3 checkers to expedite checkout time. The bad part is that the staff tends to speak Chinese very loudly among themselves without being courteous of customers presence. They got everything else down packed!
fairly reliable. The pharmacy here got my prescriptions together quickly, and, the staff was courteous. The clerks at the front of the store could learn something from the pharmacists.
