Best Dance/Manners Class. Wonderful class, my daughter and her cousin both loved it so much they both did it 2 years. Great manner skills too. Learning the right way to get in and out of a car,how to serve punch, how to hold your plate and drinking glass at a party, wait for the gentleman to open the door, how to say thank you to your hostess for a party. They also give wonderful balls with video of the event and photographer for pictures as well. We watch the videos all the time...really fun! The best skills ever. Would highly recommend this class.
Great program - sent 3 kids through it!. I've sent 3 kids through the Junior Manners Cotillion program. My oldest, now in college, came back and told me she is one of the only students who can walk into any social situation and feel completely comfortable. This was a great affirmation that I made the right choice to enroll my youngest this year as well. The Millet's do a wonderful job with the kids, and my daughter looks forward to the class each month. These are all skills that kids need to learn, and will use forever.
Junior Manners Cotillion - Los Altos. Good manners and nice behavior never go out of style. Mr and Mrs Millet lead a well managed course for 5th and 6th graders to reenforce the importance of the simple niceties, from an always welcomed "please" and "thank you" to simply sending in an RSVP to an invitation. How many adults do you know today who will ignore electronic evites designed to make the RSVP as simple as possible!!?? Lest you think this class is just for the stuffy few, think again! The Millets Junior Manners Cotillion class is up to date with a section dedicated to "electronic etiquette" with suggestions such as "excuse yourself and walk away to a private place when using your cell phone" or "do not post negative comments about your teachers, principals, etc..." Once again, adults need this class too! Instead, send your child and learn a thing or two yourself. I have, and I am thrilled my 11 year old son is attending with his friends. I will be sending my 9 year old in two years time.
About Us.
Junior Manners Cotillion has been teaching social skills, manners and basic ballroom dance in the Bay Area since 1995. Over 6,000 students have taken our program and many students have taken two and even three years of Cotillion. Parents send their children because they see the value of what we teach.
Our focus is to build self confidence in our young people through the knowledge of good social skills. The older our young people get, the more our society expects of them. We teach through skits, stories and student interaction.
There is no other program like it in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Overpriced, not worth it. Very over priced. It's $600 for the series of classes AND you still have to go 'chaperone' a class, which consists of washing dishes in the back room. I also have serious concerns about the safety of children while in the care of the 'teachers'. They do not keep an accurate record each evening of who is in the class - if a child is to walk out of the class, they would have no idea. They also have no emergency contact numbers for parents, so no way to contact you if your child has an allergic reaction, there is an earthquake, etc.
