food poisoning - avoid at all costs. Food poisoning. Stolen bags from people who were eating. Go to yelp and read the reviews. Unfortunately, I hadn't, before eating there. It's an avalanche of kitchen confidential stories. These guys don't respect their customers, they just want money. The worst part is, the staff doesn't demonstrate concern or even responsibility for their customers. Not a nice meal.

I am a San Francisco local and think there is something to it when the locals (i.e. yelp reviewers) have bad experiences to share.

I don't recommend this is a good place to eat!. Jan 2008. Honestly the food here is terrible! The Fried Spring Rolls (Veggie) tasted and overwhelm smelled of dishwashing soap! The Cashew Chicken was very bland and not tasty at all. The service was very slow and poor. I would never return to this restaurant again. - SF Native Since 1990

Best Thai food EVER!!!. This is the best Thai food I have ever had!!! Everything I have tried here is de-lish! Very reasonable too!

you gotta love thai!. Where else can you pay $20 and get more than enough food to feed yourself and your girlfriend. Chai yo Is a great little Thai spot on Polk. The service is very friendly and attentive. This is my favorite thai restaurant for pad thai, and in my top three overall. Also try the pad see yu (not sure of spelling =)

Great Thai Food. Excellent food, nice ambiance, solid service, and great prices make this one of two stand-out Thai restaurant in a section of town that overfloweth in Thai. Also recommended is Thai House down on Geary/Larkin.

Unusual cuisine, great service. Food here is wonderful, service is kind. Loved anything with the rice noodles. Definitely try this place. Great stop before visiting the AMC theater down the street.

Best Thai food in the city. No idea why Chai Yo is just a 9.0. I love thai food and I have tried out most of the well known thai restaurants on the east side of san francisco (Ko Sah Mui, Thai basil, Jitlada, the thai restaurant on filmore and geary). Chai Yo is by far the best. Service is great, food is tasty and fresh, wait staff very attentive (they listen to what you have to say), it's cheap.

My wife and I have been there twice in the past three days. It's saying something about the place.

My favorite dish in all of SF.. I have consumed the eggplant tofu dish over 50 times since I moved here three years ago. It's fabulous every single time I get it. Everything else I have ever eaten there has also been fantastic. The service is great and everything is presented nicely. A great place for a date or a chat with friends. I also recommend the warm green tea chai. Amazing! I can't say enough good things.

one of my favorites. it's inexpensive, fast and good. I've been here many times and it never dissapoints. Service is quick and friendly. I love the eggplant with tofu and the waterfall beef salad. Great pad thai and the Panang curry is the best I've ever had in SF. If it's in season- I always get the mango with sweet sticky rice. Neighborhood is a little sketchy after-dark but Chai-Yo can deliver.
