The Scene
In 1896, Samuele Sebastiani crushed his first grapes--the press he used is on display in the tasting room. The expansive stone-walled room also houses a long tasting bar, hand-carved wine casks and a substantial array of merchandise for sale, including kitchen supplies, cookbooks and everything wine-related. The large Sebastiani complex is more centrally located than many Sonoma wineries, with facilities and offices that take up nearly a block of in-town real estate.
The Experience
The friendly and unpretentious staff takes groups on tours designed to share Sebastiani's history and help make wine appreciation accessible to everyone. The winery's substantial offerings range from tours to seminars. In addition to three historic tours daily (four on weekends), an open-air trolley tour is offered four days a week. Wine tasting and Soil to Bottle seminars are held twice weekly.
