The Scene – Studio Z (formerly the Transmission Theater) evokes the olden days of clubbing, before the proliferation of too-cool cocktail lounges and corporate nightclubs. When to Go:
Studio Z is a good place to check out after the bars close--it's one of the few venues in SF permitted to stay open all night long.

There's an ATM located under the stairs inside the club.
Look Good:
Studio Z's side room doubles as an art gallery, with shows changing once a month. This room is often opened during events, but maintains a no-alcohol policy.
