I literally dream about In N Out. This is my absolutely favorite fast food joint and one of the best burger joints as well. I always order my burger extra toast to make sure I get a nice crisp on the bun. Check out the secret menu for some unique items!

Best consistent burger in SF. Guys, yes, I k now we're in SF and you should expect a bit more class to say something is the 'best' in its class, but In and Out burger can be because it's reliably good. Nothing's organic here but it's reliable..... always tastes the same.....

The country's first drive-thru chain with made-from-scratch burgers and a devout following.. In Short
Founded in 1948, In-N-Out locations are known for their eye-catching yellow-arrow logo and spic-and-span red and white interiors. The streamlined menu includes fries, beverages and three types of hamburgers. These all-beef burgers are topped with fresh vegetables and Thousand Island-like dressing on griddled buns with optional American cheese; fries--oversized potatoes with the skins still on--are dunked in cholesterol-free cottonseed oil until just the outsides are done.

Best Hamburger in San Francisco. In-and-Out's much-touted "fresh" hamburgers are, more often than not, grisly, overdone little pieces of you-know-what, - just tough, nasty little hockey pucks of a burger. I shall further blaspheme by saying that the Big Mac (actually - and most appropriately - known in the food industry as a "B.M.") is tastier and more satisfying. Yes, I'm aware of all the salt, fat, insect parts and calories in the B.M., but the I&O burger has just the same, Dudes. How I&O got to be Numbero Uno only shows that you can never go broke underestimating the taste of the Amercian Public (maybe they should call I&O an H. L. MenckenBurger). You want taste and quality, go to Zuni or some other good restaurant and spend the extra money. Or did you move out here from Peoria for the I&Os?

best fast food anywhere. Terrible location in the city, but best fast food money can buy. Check out the burgers down on the Peninsula or up in Marin.

Amazing burgers. Always awesome burgers and shakes. Order it Animal Style for even better! Avoid the one at Fisherman's wharf.

horrible, worst burger I've ever had. OK, so coming from Texas, I wanted to see what all the fuss was about at In-and-Out burger. I waited patiently, surely the busy burger spot had to be attracting customers for a good reason. After all the anticipation, you can imagine the dissapointment I experienced after taking a bite. Dry and bland. California, please! This is not at all how a fast food burger should be. This should be a spot in a hospital cafeteria and never see the light of day outside of that environment. I still am completely clueless as to why people think this place is so great, much less even edible.

No what I expected. My sister and I ate there just last week. It was my first ever visit and my sister's second (first in San Diego) so she had something to compare it to. The burger was one step above McDonald's and the fries were not fresh potatoes. In fact, my sister got up to look to see if anyone was peeling potatoes as she had been told you always see someone peeling the potatoes and did at the San Diego location. We thought maybe this location was cutting corners by using frozen fries instead of using fresh potatoes. Anyway, it is one of the cheaper meals we had there. But it wasn't that good to me. I've had Fat Burger and that was much better.
