This is not an honest business!. I organized a dinner for a large group of friends at Jeanty at a fixed charge per guest When I looked at the bill the next day, I realized the restaurant had overcharged for one extra guest, by almost $100. I immediately called and was assured by the manager that they would correct the mistake. Several weeks went by - no refund to my credit card, I called again. And again. And again, and again. Each time I spoke to the manager, who assured me that he would credit my card or, most recently, send me a refund check. The result? Zero, zip, nada. I finally realized that he was simply lying and had no intention of ever refunding my money. I will never entertain at Jeanty again and am recommending against it to all my business contacts.

authentic. I have always had excellent food and service here. It really reminds me of Paris. There is something very authentic about it. I like being seated in the mezzanine (for a bit more privacy).

Great soup. The tomato soup here is really excellent and very different in the way it comes out. The fries here are on the salty side so beware. The atmosphere is OK. Definitely a business dining crowd.

Very good French food; empty on Sunday night. Rich chose this restaurant using an OpenTable search. We were celebrating Kristin's birthday, plus Jeff was in town from Boston on business. We're all late-30s. I wouldn't choose this restaurant again for a similar event, but only because it was nearly empty and fairly quiet on a Sunday night, and in my mind the birthday celebration warranted a more festive setting. Jeanty's was comfortable but formal. The service was good, though the waiter appeared reluctant to offer wine selection help even though we were clearly at a loss.

We shared everything. Kristin's tomato soup was ridiculously good. The restaurant was out of pike but substituted sole into the fish dumplings, and these were outstanding as well. We asked for more bread to soak up the lobster sauce left behind once we devoured the dumplings. I ordered the Coq au Vin with a side of egg noodles -- this is a very dense reduction and while it was too heavy and dark for me (I needed to stab at things with my fork to differentiate the mushrooms from the potatoes), it was flavorful in an earthy and understated way. Definitely order the egg noodles to go with. Rich insisted on the warm salad with a soft-boiled egg perched on top and I had two helpings of this delightful salad made with bacon. I also had a few bites of Rich's sole, which was seasoned, breaded and fried to near-perfection with slices of no-rind lemon on top.

I got the sense that the staff wants to stay out of your way while you ponder your order. If this is a choice, then they executed it well. However, it's possible that they were indifferent and lackadaisical. I wasn't sure.

GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. This palce is the best!!! It has it all...great food, great abiance, and great service. It doesn't matter if you go for lunch or dinner...the food and the service are always great...and they are so accommodating.... i've never been turned away because they are "too busy" like most places...they always give you otions...but i do suggest making reservations.

Worst customer Service. I have been to this restuarant many times, but this last time it was terrible. First of all the people at the table next to us was very loud. When we told the manager, she asked us to move tables. I ordered the steak frites medium well, it came to me OVER well done. The side dish of spinach was overally salty, that you could not even eat it. When our concerns were brought to the manager, she mentioned that this place was a public place and there was nothing she could do about the noisy people next to us. I explained to her that Jeanty at Jacks was not a public restuarant and I expected better service, I was not at McDonalds. You expect better service considering you are at a nice restuarant and paying alot of money. They need to get trained managers that know how to deal with customers and their complaints. Not once did she apologized. She just kept making excuses.........

Always enjoyable. I have been several times and have always thoroghly enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. Beautiful historic buliding, different ambience on each floor. My favorites are tomato soup (of course), the pate foie blonde, escarole salad with soft boiled egg, cog au vin, daub de bouef (stewed beef), cassoulet (very hearty). If they offer the bread pudding special for dessert, I highly recommend it.

To comment on other reviews listed here, it is common practice in restaurants (even fine restaurants) to use proveyors for some finished items, i.e. desserts, breads, etc. It is the selection of quality products that is reflected in the quality of the dining experience. Also, many restaurant items are "pre-cooked". Coq au vin, stewed beef, cassoulet, tomato soup, etc. take HOURS to prepare, but once cooked, do not take long to serve.

Educated diners make better critics.

So-So. Went here with three co-workers for a mid-week lunch. Service was quite friendly, but extremely slow. Though we were anticipating something far better than average, the food was nothing to rave about, though the portions were okay. The crepe suzette even tasted a little burnt around the edges. We won't be rushing back anytime soon.

Served store bought sorbet. We were served chain store brand sorbet among our dessert orders. My friend noticed right away since she buys that particuler dessert for her kids. We almost protested but we did not want to embarrass the restaurant, so we just kept our mouths shut.

By the way, the sorbet was exactly 6 times the cost of the store price.

the apple fell far from the treee. restaurant was empty at 8pm. waitress interrupted our conversation 3 times, couldn't help with the wine, and took over 10 minutes to find someone who knew the wine list. our food arrived immediately (?) obviously pre-cooked. 2nd floor is cramped, gloomy and dark (unless a car exits the garage across the street then their lights blind you). and they played electronica music the entire time we were there - very out of place. clearly there is an identity crisis happening. disappointing after so many good experiences in napa.
