Editorial Review for Eldos Grill Micro Brewery – by Daniel Liszt

In Short
On the left side of the narrow space, arty photos hang above a long row of tables. Across from it, a centerpiece bar holds a few TVs and is crowned by carousel horses--exemplary of the venue's hodgepodge environment. Approximately 10 ever-changing homemade beers are available, as well as a menu featuring Mexican-flaired small plates. Near the back, stairs ascend toward a second-floor seating area, which offers views of silver beer vats.

The food was good and came out in a reasonable time. I got there early about 11:00am on a weekday which is probably why it was empty. Being empty was actually good after having my nervous system repeatedly raped over and over again by the San Francisco traffic. There were about five different beers to try. A pale ale, an amber, an IPA, a porter and I believe a double IPA. All were okay except the porter. It was sour. The waiter told me the porter always tasted that way!!?

But great for everything else! The first time I dined here it took much to long for us to get our drinks and even longer to get our food. The one savior was the food- good wuality at a great price. The second time I expected a different experience, but everything remained the same. Both times the restaurant was nearly empty, but somehow the server always seems to be distracted by anything and everything BUT waiting on customers. I have to say I might be back if only for the great happy hour specials.

Pros: Never crowded, great food

Cons: Poor service
