had fun. i went and had a nice time. i have money though. nice and not meat markety. good drinks, bartender's polite, and they have waitresses so you can sit on the couch and have someone bring your martini while you chat. musics okay, not good if your are a more of a raver. crowed mary jane friendly. didn't feel the slightest bit like people were judging me and could totally chill in this club. i am returning

the reveiws complaining about yuppies are from haters, get a job.

Waste of time. Matrix is a bar in the Marina. However, unlike other Marina bars, there aren't any good looking people there. I was looking forward to see a LA-type crowd that was pretentious, rich, and hot, but unfortunately that was not the case here. It was apparent from looking at the crowd that no one was having that great of a time. If you're around Fillmore, try a place that has a more upscale clientele.

Totally Cool. A lot of people tend to criticize the types who patronize this place, but I think there's often a very wide variety of people there. There's lots of suits, but there's also lots of young hot girls, old men, young men, guys in kilts. On top of that, the bartenders are pretty polite, and very good at making a drink--I recommend their Long Island. Furthermore, this place is beautiful inside, great lighting. Weekends can get very crowded, but still recommended.

just like LA. i was visiting from LA one weekend and had time to kill with my friends so we stumbled on this place not knowing what to expect. At first we thought it was a gay bar because it was such a sausage-fest. but by 10:30p the girls flowed in and it turned into a great night. definitely some great eye-candy here. dj was okay and service was a little slow. we met a bunch of girls here...ironically they were also from LA. i'd go again next time i'm in SF.

Matrix.... I totally enjoy this place. Every time I've gone I've had a good time. FridaY'S are probably a better day to go-good music and its all about the eye candy. Saturday's aren't too great (think it's the DJ) but its still a fun place to chill. Definitely good looking people though!!!

You either love it or hate it.... My rating aside, Matrix does have some positive things going for it. It is very trendy, has good music, and good looking people. On the other hand it is always crowded to extremes, the good looking folks are sometimes not fun to talk to, and good luck trying to get a drink.

Bah Humbug!. I had the displeasure of patronizing this establishment just the other night with my good friend Kernal. Needless to say, definitely more his type of place. Crowded with skyscraper and levee crowd, this place is for the birds. And honestly, who wants to watch Ren and Stimpy or Dragonball-Z while using the restroom, after standing in line for 57 minutes for a place that is only half full with Johnny Leather Jackets

suffocating!. went there sat nite with friends... there was NO room to breathe. music was okay, but the place is so small you get groped trying to get to the restroom.

Mike. After reading the reviews I almost didn't go. I was surprised and happy that I went. The place is unusually comfortable. Service was great actually, food was excellent and very cheap but the drinks were way over priced. I went on a Saturday and the crowd was really great, at least that night. Nice, attractive women. Everyone cordial overall.

Well it is in the MARINA!. The Matrix is a bar in the marina! Thats why I go there. If I wanted a mission-style bar I would hit Valencia Street.
