Rooms are large and well-equipped and the service is responsive and attentive. Views of the city from the 24th-floor tower rooms, from the Fairmont Crown Room at the tower's top and from the rooftop garden are spectacular. Wonderful...the amenities, the spa, the massage therapists...love this place. The bartenders are asleep at the wheel and when you are spending 7.00 a beer and 10.00 a drink...you'd like some eye contact, but the rest of the experience was fantastic. Good hotel staff. Clean rooms, Spacious bathrooms/rooms. I will probably never partake in the restaurants again, but you need to "experience" the Tonga Room at LEAST once in your life!

Pros: views, hotel staff, cleanliness

Cons: bar staff

Well, what will $85M buy you?? An absolutely beautiful hotel restoration!! I checked in and asked for a room on a higher floor (2nd floor), and whalla - a tasteful mini-suite upgrade in the Tower. Gorgeous, unobstructed corner views of the skyline with a marble shower!! Dining in the Tonga, wait staff saw that I was having a hard time cutting my filet, and promptly gave me a sharper knife!! I tipped well - but extra tip was refunded before I got back upstairs since gratuities were included with meal!! They actually gave my money back. Easy location, close to cable car, muni, etc. A must stay in S.F!!!

Pros: great views, "old" luxury, AAA+++ Service

Cons: no shuttle fr airport
