Rainforest Cafe. It's really fun for kids...if you're near all the action. If you're in the back...it's just another over priced resturant. The food is fair. One MAJOR piece of advice.....ONLY use cash. Soon after we left the place my bank called to ask if I had just made a $2,500 purchase. I may just be jumping to conclusions, but my card was out of my site for a good while as I waited to sign the bill.…
Horrible Food, Service and overall experience!!!.
Our family has been there many times in the past few years and never had a single issue. The service was good and food was fresh and delicious. Not this time.
We arrived there 10 minutes prior to our reservation time and were almost immediately taken to a table which we did not like. Asked the waitress to get us a table in Jungle Room, which is a more privet, if you will, part of the restaurant and were told no problem, just wait for 10-15 more minutes. After nearly 40 minutes of wait we were finally taken to our table. To our surprise the table was not in the room where we wanted and which we spent extra time waiting for. Being that all guests( party of 12) already spent 40 minutes just to get sited and to avoid spoiling the occasion that brought us there in the first place (my son's birthday and mother's day celebration) we decided to let it slide.
Took another 25-30 minutes for the guy to bring us our drinks. Specifically ordered drinks to be low on ice but even that did not help. It looked and felt more like a $9 glass full of ice cubes.
Our food arrived another 45 minutes later!!! Cold!!!
Not only that, they managed to screw up two of the orders and had to go back to the kitchen to bring us the right stuff.
All in all 6 different dishes were ordered from their menu and every single one, was BAD.
The BBQ pork ribs that I would always order there and which would slide right off the bone before, I had problem scraping off with my knife. The lobsters and shrimps that were in other dishes tasted like plane rubber and the medium stake was so hard you had to use your muscle power to slice it.
My son's burger was so dry that he barely finished half of it.
Even worst is that my wife's Mahi-Mahi dish made her so sick she spent the whole night in the bathroom.
Our overall experience was so bad I will not recommend anyone to go there.
I don't know what happened with this place in the last few months since our last visit there but that's one restaurant of my list of favorite places in this city.
P.S. The staffing that day was more then plenty and restaurant capacity at 75% at most so I know for a fact, poor service was not caused by not enough staff at hand.
As for the kitchen nightmare one could only wonder.…
Disappointing. Visited on a Monday afternoon before the lunch rush. There were only a few tables occupied. My water glass was dirty and had to be replaced. The sides were cold and fries were added to an entre when my guest specifically declined them. I will not be returning. Some restaurants think they can get away with poor quality and service because of their location.…
This cartoon jungle is a child's wonderland, with waterfalls, swinging monkeys and a canopy of faux flora and fauna..
In Short
While waiting for a table, hungry diners prowl the retail village, where cash-register ka-chings compete with chirping birds, roaring lions and chest-thumping gorillas. When the
lights start to flicker, never fear--thunderstorms are part of the show. The menu is American comfort food--pastas, burgers, pizzas and salads--served with a tropical flair. There are plenty options that the kids will recognize, but enough novelty to keep the parents happy.…
Food taste like frozen. Sad to say that Rainforest food that I ordered taste like frozen. I ordered Chicken Fried Steak for $17.99, I mean the price is was too much. Root Ber cost $3.50 a bottle. I could have gone to Alioto's Restaurant for lunch menu and have "Sauteed Shrimp Garlic with Butter Lemon Sauce for only $13.85, plus a decent place with spectacular view of Golden Gate Bridge. My advise next time is to check around the area for Lunch Menu, then decide where to eat.…
