What People Are Saying About Red Grill

Featured Review

In Short – Each dining room is cozy, with closely set tables. Dark red walls and dim lighting create an intimate glow, while banquettes offer a place to sip pre-dinner cocktails. The menu features traditional American entrees, ranging from whiskey-marinated flank steak to grilled ahi tuna with sesame-soy glaze. Sides include onion rings, waffle-cut fries and Thousand Island dressing on iceberg lettuce. Homemade pecan pie is a featured dessert.

Bad Service, substandard food! Don't do it!

by edgarsfcity at Citysearch

Worst service, inconsistent, staff combative as opposed to sympathetic to customers. Never guaranteed reservation, management, organization and follow through does not exist. Bad in handling reservations.

Sad to see place in decline, limited menu, very limited. Ambiance lost it's luster, service rushed, outdoor sitting not set up, your faced with stacked chairs instead, can't appreciate overall setting of restaurant. Food is sad, steak okay, sides pre cooked, expensive wines, Forestville? Give me a break.

  • Pros: location
  • Cons: staff # 1, menu #2, New management #3

price is right

by tartini71 at Citysearch

the meals here are such a great value, it is so rare to find a steak house that includes even one side dish with the price of your meal- Red Grill included two plus a salad which makes it a great value. The Ahi, Rib Eye and scalloped potatoes were great. My sea bass was overcooked but the issue was quickly remedied w/out issue. Good drinks too.

  • Pros: good value, cute waiters
  • Cons: tough parking

Freezing

by noeman at Citysearch

Freezing cold in the back room on the ground floor; get some heat, this is San Francisco ! Also, how can you be out of Potato Skins and still have Baked Potato sides ???

The food and sides we did have were great. Too bad about the room temperature and a dying flashing light bulb in the too dimly lit room.

cozy

I've been here more times than I can count but last night was the first time I went upstairs. It was cozy. The steak is great. Go upstairs.
