My husband was in town planning for a large event and visited Lefty O'Doul's. One of the bartenders ridiculed him to the point of yelling at him while he was leaving - bidding him a "farewell". He was humiliated. He talked to management after the incident and they simply told him that they have had other complaints over the last several weeks. Being that my husband meets thousands of people that come into the area and points them to places to have fun, he will NOT be recommending this place. Where fun is not being ridiculed and humiliated and being told by management that it "happens".
SWEET TEA VODKA FTW!.
Lefty's actually surprised me quite a bit.
Let me preface this by saying that I didn't ACTUALLY have any of the food. BUT THEY HAVE SWEET TEA VODKA, so I had plenty of that.
Awesome ambiance, live music, conveniently located in Union Square. Totally dig this place. And will most definitely be back.
over priced, stale bread, waitor did not care.
My husband and I just ate breakfast here and I was VERY disappointed. I ordered a LARGE ornage juice and he brings me an 8 ounce glass. I was furious for $3 when they had 20 ounce bottles at the register. I wanted to send it back and get the bottle but I kept my cool. Then my bagel came out and it was cold and hard as a rock. I asked if they had some fresh ones I got a no reply. I sent it back and ate part of my husbands breakfast. He had potatoes, eggs, bacon, and toast. His was average....nothing special.
I recommend Lori's Diner that is one block away from this place. Way better food.
The Staff are Rude and Abusive.
Don't visit this bar! While on a business trip to San Francisco, I had the misfortune to go to this bar. At closing time (approximately 1:45), the staff were abusive in the extreme and threatened to knock my colleague's teeth out if he didn't leave immediately. A simple request would have sufficed.
Do yourself a favour and avoid this place like the plague.
GREAT FUN! Music was Wonderful, Service Great!. It felt like I was with my family and all my Friends. Paul the piano man was great. The Server was great too! Fun people, very personable. There was a girl named Gina that was a dream to listen too on Tuesday night. WOW! She was FANTASTIC. Would love to hear her again.
A guy's place; A lady's haven. Great location to relax...If you need a drink, there's a bar. If you want entertainment, there is a piano performance each night, with a friendly musician that feeds off the crowd participation. Locals and plenty of tourists intermingle at this historic joint. The gem here is the food though. Comfort at its finest...Dinner plates are bountiful, a good helping of meat, 3 sides, and roll for under $10. Either the corned beef or turkey are my top faves, still deciding. Specials vary on a daily basis, try the meat loaf on Mondays, wash it down with a beer (guys), or red wine (ladies). Either way, its a winner. Seating in the back with plenty of TVs to enjoy the comfort food.
Cafeteria-style restaurant and cocktail lounge, just off Union Square, with an old-school piano bar and baseball theme..
In Short
This Union Square staple is the self-proclaimed "best deal on the square," with cheap meals and drink specials all day. The dimly lit dark-wood interior and over-the-top baseball memorabilia give it an old-fashioned, all-American feel. Homey comfort food is served cafeteria-style on trays, and the piano bar up front sees its fair share of late-night drunken singers. Tourists and ancient regulars sit side by side to watch Giants games and order the hoegaarden on tap.
