Happy hour specials, live tunes and posh decor draws 30-somethings to this Financial District bar. – A khakis and polo shirt-clad crowd descends on this two-tier space after work. Toward the back, singles mingle by the lower-level bar. Near the entrance, servers walk back and forth from the illuminated cherry-wood bar, serving small groups huddled in blue suede booths. If there's a ballgame being played, it'll be displayed on one of the few TVs, evoking a healthy amount of hollering. Some come to sample the noteworthy wine list, but most come for a signature cosmopolitan during happy hour; otherwise, there's nothing special about the typical cocktail list but drinks do pack a punch. Live piano music is played in Tuesday through Saturday evenings (8pm-12am). During other hours, recorded jazz and bossa nova keeps the atmosphere lively and the swank-factor high.
Horrible Service – Didn't care for this place when there during the dot.com highs - but thought I'd give it another try now that the economy has changed. Still don't like it and won't ever recommend this place to anyone. Went with a group from the hospitality industry (who could be very influential in sending biz their way) and we've all never had such inhospitable service - with bad cosmos to boot! Horrible atmosphere with uptight servers with an attitude. The food we had didn't leave any better impression either. Avoid this place like the plague.
