The Best Ever. I'm from Philadelphia and before visiting SF, I searched citysearch for the best sushi restaurant. After all that research I stumbled upon Wasabi and Ginger while walking down Van Ness. It is crazy that W&G isn't #1 on this thing. It was the most creative sushi I've ever had. I thrive on "special rolls" and they had an entire menu page PLUS daily special rolls! Really nice service and fast too. FRESH fish! Highly recommend it.

TRY SUPER DYNAMITE ROLL. Incredibly fresh and large sushi portions, best rolls, and free valet parking make it the best sushi spot in town. The front room with its sunken tables is a great spot for large groups to get together for sushi and drinks.

Yum!. This place is delicious! The sushi is fresh, the people are nice, and the valet holds my dog for me if I am picking up a togo order! They are great!

great sushi without the wait. my roommate recommended this place to me, and i'm glad she did. the sushi was fresh, the rolls were interesting, and there was no wait on a friday night! there are definitely places with better atmosphere and food, but this is a great find for one of those nights when you just want good food at a decent price, but you don't want to do the usual, crowded scene.

Great recommendation from hostess. My husband and I have been looking for a reasonably priced, good quality Japanese sushi restaurant and were pleasantly surprised by W&G. The hostess/server asked us whether we had been there before, and made a couple of recommendations (their special spider roll, spicy roll) that we thoroughly enjoyed. The prices were reasonable. On top of all of this, there was free valet parking!

W&G rules. It rules that i live a block away from this place. The fish is always fresh, everything is decently priced, and the staff is awesome. Im surprised this place isnt jumpin all the time.

This place rocks!. I stumbled across this place shortly after it opened and have been a regular ever since. The fish is fresh, the prices are fair, and the service is good.

Great neighborhood joint. W&G is a great neighborhood sushi place, and as I live in the neighborhood I consider myself lucky. The fish is always fresh and their house-invented rolls are great. The Super Dynamite roll in particular is amazing...Japanese crack, as it were.

EXCELLENT FIND.
By looking at the outside of the place you would not really know they had good sushi.
But excellent original rolls like romeo and juliet
are to die for. Service a bit slow but tolerable...

Food is great; servers are rude.. I was so excited to be able to walk down the hill to find great Sushi and literally went there 3 times in one week. the fish is fresh, the rolls are innovative and deliciously presented but the service and the attitude of the staff is a liability. I am sad to say that I probably will not go back unless they hire a brand new group of servers.
