In Short – Honey-colored oak and leaded glass give a homey touch to this California-based chain of specialty coffeehouses. Commonly referred to as the Bean, this purveyor of high-end blends--from dark roasts to oolongs--built its reputation on the international scope of its seasonal bean offerings (originating from Yemen to Hawaii) and a highly diversified selection of teas. Pastries encourage patrons to sit; espresso makers, French presses and coffee grinders let folks bring it home.
Mocha mudslide

The coffee extract tastes like mud. Mocha mudslide tastes like mud! These people don't use syrup they use a disgusting powder. It's like fat powder. They are NOT kosher BTW.
- Pros: The service, the people that can put up with minimum wage and put up with their tips being stolen.
- Cons: The Vanilla powder is like solid fat in a powder form, the no sugar added powder can be used to make a kegel bomb.
consistent, friendly, good!

As good a cappuccino as I've had anywhere in the US - and consistently good, from all of the barristas who've served me - which makes CB&TL (at least this location) unique among chains.
(Note to Peet's fans - CB&TL is a lighter roast than Peet's uses - de gustibus, etc.)
Best Coffeehouse Chain in the World!

This place knows coffee! It has it all...great products, atmosphere, well-trained staff, and attitude! My only complaint is that they don't have more locations. There are two in SF now. The other is on Market St. Their chocolate and vanilla powders are what set their flavored drinks apart from the rest.
- Pros: Great Value, Fast Service, Best Coffee
- Cons: Trashcans overflowing, Parking sucks, Can be crowded
