Great Bikram!. Once you get past the little man at check in, you'll love the place. Over the past couple years I've truly valued my time spent at Mission. It's roomy and doesn't smell like feet. Temperatures are well maintained and instructors are friendly and professional. Unfortunately, the overall vibe given by the gentleman who seems to be the head administrator is negative and less than helpful. It's yoga. Relax.
Best Bikram and Vinyasa Yoga Studio!. This is the only place I want to do yoga in SF! They have both Bikram and Vinyasa classes, so I can mix it up when I want! The teachers have that perfect balance of being super-nice and working me to my edge. The Vinyasa classes are in a beautiful hardwood floor room with lots of sunlight. Both studios are heated, which is great on these cold winter days! They even have No-clothes Yoga classes for the more adventurous! Big thumbs up!
New Owners Putting Integrity Back Into Bikram Mission Yoga.
Up Date - Dec 9th 2006
My first encounter with the Bikram studio under New Ownership was a positive one.
The temperature and humidity has come up.
Good Instructors, reasonable prices.
The studio can use some improvements, and from what "Juicy" and her partner have told me, I think they will bring Mission Yoga up to a new standard for Bikram in San Francisco.
Check back I will update as needed
The Mission warms up to the hot yoga of Bikram and the fast flow of Vinyasa..
In Short
The large second floor of this old brick building has been stripped to just bare walls and wood floor. It's here that devotees of sweaty and intense yoga meet for a dozen or so classes a day--some of which are taught in Spanish--split amongst two studios. Showers and lockers are on-premises to remove the telltale signs of that after-yoga glow.
oasis in the mission. I love this relaxing space in the heart of the mission with positve energy that rejuvinates me ever time.
Yoga with Heart in the Mission. I have practiced many different styles of yoga, and been to almost every studio in this city. I was almost sure Bikram was not my thing, until I went to Mission Yoga. The teachers here are amazing and inspire you to work hard without being overbearing. You can feel the love of yoga here. The studios are very Zen, the new Sun Room is gorgeous. All who want to learn yoga, practice yoga and become yogis are welcomed here. Mission Yoga is yoga for the people.
Yoga Fun. Really a perfect energetic group of instructors and practitioners. Mission Yoga is definitely the best
Awesome Instructor. The instructors here rock. There was this one lady in particular who's so passive and understanding and she just throws out this vibe that makes you relax. She coaches you on how to enjoy the pose that you're doing instead of getting all frustrated when you can't.
the best!. i had been doing vinyasa for a couple years but could never get off my butt to go more than once a week. i've been going 3-5 times/week to mission yoga for bikram classes for about six months now. the instructors and general vibe are great, and my old aches and pains have disappeared. great for rsi/carpal tunnel and back pain.
Awesome yoga!. I have done vinyasa yoga with several different studios for about 2 years prior coming to Mission Yoga's Sun Room about a month ago. I absolutely love the staff, who every time I encounter them, are so sweet and inviting. The classes are challenging, and I can see my practice improve each time I attend. I highly recommend it for people of all levels to come to Mission Yoga.
