But the real fun here is the strange selection of stuffed and mounted animals, Ammonite and Trilobite fossils, glass eyes, and beetle and butterfly collections. In fact, Paxton Gate boasts San Francisco's most extensive selection of dried and mounted exotic insects.

They house an impeciable collection and have glorious displays. There is something for everyone here, from children to adults. The landscaping area in the back is also quite impressive. There is no other store on the West Coast like it. Only drawback? The staff could be a little less pretentious.

this store has such a great selection of items you simply will not find anywhere else! i have never walked in there and not gotten anything b/c there is always something that catches my eye.
