great restaurant bad service. I love this restaurants food and wine list, although i can not overlook the old women that runs the show down there. She may be the owner or just a hostess, but she is very rude and when they are busy don't expect to get any kind of a smile or welcome from her.
Fantastic. I live in the area and LOVE to eat at Street. It can be expensive at times but well worth it. The place doesn't take reservation so make sure to get there early.
Great atmosphere and great food.
I love this place. I have been there many times and love to go back.
The owners are fun and nice and their burger is one of the best in town.
Excellent Food & Atmosphere. I have had very positive dining experience's at Street. Excellent food, service and atmosphere. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
One of the best restaurants in San Francisco. Period.. We used to live a few blocks from this great restaurant, and truly miss it. The hosts, waiters, and chef are all very friendly and just blew us away with the food and service. This is one of those places where it is MORE fun to sit at the bar and chat with the bartender. The fried chicken Sundays were amazing. The first time I had the corn bread, I instinctively asked for butter, and the chef nicely told me "you don't need butter." I was kind of surprised, but after the first taste I actually agreed. It was by far the best corn bread I have ever had. I think he puts sour crm and creamed corn in it, but I am not sure. The risotto was always amazing, and the warm chocolate cake was just crazy. We never experienced parking problems because we lived blocks away, but I think there are plenty of valet options close by. Go there!
Can't say enough good things. Fabulous food, friendly people, great atmosphere. One of the best restaurants in the city for the price.
What a gem of a restaurant!. There's not one negative thing that I can say about Street. Everything, EVERYTHING, even down to the retro but warm Christmas music makes this place my new favorite restaurant in the city. The food was amazing...seafood stew and crabcakes. Yummy! The service was the best I've had and genuine. How often do you find a restaurant in the city that can combine a romantic yet festive atmosphere, great food, electic martini's and amazing service. I've yet to find any until I walked up to Street. Luv it!
Can't find this in NYC.
Time to weigh in. This is a neighborhood gem. Moved here 5 months ago from NYC and went to Street my first night in my new apartment because my kitchen wasn't unpacked yet. I was blown away, the host was as gracious as can be, the staff polished but friendly and the food sublime. To get this package in New York you have to endure treatment like you were something less than human.
Highlights; Best burger in town, unbelievable fried chicken, Housemade anything in the sausage and pate category, Always an exquisite risotto, I can go on but you should definitely go there. Note, I always go before 7pm or after 9pm, it can get crowded around 8pm
Best American Bistro in SF.
John and his wife work hard at this classy, no-attitude American Bistro in Russian Hill. This Soho style casual, but classy joint is busy but worth any wait you might encounter.
Best Cheeseburger in SF, bar none, best Fried Chicken Dinner (sunday only), and best place to unexpectedly encounter Grilled Quail and Venison Sausage over Artichoke Torte as the nightly special for under twenty dollars. I have never had a bad or even less than perfect meal in this restaurant. The creative soups and classic deserts round out the always colorful but comforting menu of American favorites with a European flair.
