Originally a marshland, the site of this festival was transformed in the early 20th century to the glorious grove of redwoods and eucalyptus that it is today. Stern Grove was donated to the city in 1932, and has become a summer home for musical daydreams. Gently set in an acoustically pristine meadow, the amphitheater can hold up to 8,000 people. Each season, the venue hosts an array of internationally renowned musicians. The range of offerings typically extends from Latin jazz to classical to fusion.
