Class and style in a popular tourist setting.. The Scene
Following a complete renovation, this three-story beauty opened at the turn-of-the-21st-century. It is within easy walking distance to many of San Francisco's most famous attractions, including Pier 39, the cable cars and the ferry to Alcatraz. Offering dependable luxury, it is popular with both business and leisure travelers.

The Details
Bigger is better seems to be the motto here. Standard guest rooms start at almost 300 square-feet, and suites range to over 500 square-feet. Additional suite treats include bathrobes and complimentary newspaper. Foggy days find guests lounging in the lobby with its warm wood paneling and inviting fire. The Vintner's Lounge hosts a daily cocktail hour and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The concierge can arrange babysitting services for parents who want a night out on their own.

Hit and Miss Service Quality. Service was erratic, sometimes staff going out of their way to help us, other times being completely useless. A call to the front desk requesting a corkscrew for our wine had one delivered to our room within minutes. But when a fire alarm went off and guests evacuated to the street for twenty minutes, no one from the staff came outside or spoke a word to us, not even to tell us when to reenter. The breakfast buffet has a fantastic fruit bar and good overall variety, although the eggs are questionable and the service terrible. The workout room is better than most, including weights, water, stereo and a courtyard view. Our room was spacious and comfortable, although there were some stuffy odors. Dont plan on dining at the restaurant Sunday or Monday it doesnt say so on the signs, but it is only open five nights a week.

This hotel. is central to the touristy Fisherman's Wharf area and very close to trolley and public transportation. The hotel is nice but nothing fancy. The rooms are basic yet clean. The staff was very helpful and worked with us on an early check-in. I would stay here again however I would opt for something a little closer to center city and away from Fisherman's Wharf. However if you are there as a tourist this hotel would be a great spot.

Very nice. We checked into the Hilton from 2/26 to 3/2/03. Found that the hotel is in the center of many activities and very close to street cars and trolleys. We didn't rent a car and didn't need to. Large, clean, well decorated rooms. We had a wonderful breakfast in the hotel restaurant, the waiters were terrific. The hotel staff was exceptionally pleasant, helpful and professional (especially Lee and Tomas). We did have a room facing the street which was a bit noisy, but were able to switch to a room facing a courtyard... very nice. We would definitely return!
