Cozy, charming hotel in a central location, just a little small.
I stayed at this hotel during pride weekend last year, and had a very pleasant experience. The staff is friendly and helpful, and breakfast in the morning had everything we needed to get a jumpstart on our day. The room itself was quaint and clean, but VERY small: just big enough to fit the full bed, and the bathroom was uncomfortably tiny, with hardly any room to even move in the shower. For the location, it was to be expected, but watch out for the parking: we used the valet thinking it was included, but ended up being an additional $60 per day! If you have a car, think about putting that money towards a place that includes parking. Otherwise, I would stay here again as it offers a true San Francisco experience.

Their service is great!.
"The Andrews" is the best value in San Francisco. The location and service are the best anyone could ask for and the complimentary glass of wine every evening is a nice touch. Try the Andrews the next time your in S.F. and I'm sure you'll agree that the service, location and value are a few of the things that could make this your favorite hotel in the city.

Uptown atmosphere at downtown prices..
The Scene
This building was constructed as a Turkish bathhouse in 1905 and managed to survive San Francisco's historic 1906 earthquake and fire. In 1981, Harry Andrews purchased the property and thrust it into the limelight with the FINO Bar & Ristorante. It is now a member of the Joie de Vivre hotel group.
The Details
The hotel offers just 48 rooms, which allows the staff to focus on attentive, personalized service. The lobby is filled with light and has a cozy lounge, where fresh-brewed coffee and tea are served. Decor in the rooms might remind you of a European country inn, and fresh flowers are among the indulgences you'll find. Following a second renovation, FINO offers fireplace seating. This finishing touch provides a welcoming note to the complimentary wine served to guests here each evening.

great deal, great location.
I don't understand the negative review by the person who stayed in this hotel in 2000 -- that was 3 years ago, when the Andrews Hotel was under different management! Cute place, nice staff, excellent value.
