What People Are Saying About Bliss Bar

Featured Review

In Short – Despite the denim-clad crowd, the decor evokes a clubby atmosphere with industrial fixtures juxtaposed against crimson leather-padded walls. For those who are into accessorizing with colorful cocktails, the signature 24th Street cosmo is pink and fruity, and more than a dozen specialty martinis are also available. Waitresses ease the wait time for drinks, so patrons can sit back and listen to the DJ's eclectic soundtrack (Wednesday-Sunday). Other nights, lounge-y tunes waft through the space at conversation-appropriate levels.

Editor's Tips

Where to Sit:
Arrive early and snag the romantic table for two near the fireplace.
Save Money:
Happy hour (daily, 4pm-7pm) features $4 martinis and $3 beers.
The Extras:
In the far back, a cage-enclosed room accommodates private parties, such as Monday night's "Chicks with Sticks" knitting group. Call ahead to reserve the space.

This really isn't for locals, is it

by yummyt at Citysearch

This place is for people from the Marina and Walnut Creek, who feel like doing something "different" and find the Mission scene too scary. And it's loud dance music, not lounge music. Average cocktails.

Not as advertised, offensively loud

by dickinst at Citysearch

I recently moved to the Noe area and expected a nice, local, low-key place to hang out. But it was incredibly loud, not at all the mellow, lounge-y place I expected based on user and editorial reviews. We went for drinks and the DJ kept cranking it up little by little until it was intolerable. My ears were still ringing the next day. Plus, the crowd was not local, some were really young, not a sophisticated group at all. One was parked on 24th St with car doors open and stereo blasting the area for blocks. How young do you have to be to think that's cool? Noe is populated by young professionals who would like a cool, lounge-y bar to hang out at, rather than just sports bars. This is not it. Truly, the nice drinks and appearance of this bar cannot make up for the unsavory crowd and ridiculous noise level.

  • Pros: can't make up for the loudness
  • Cons: SO LOUD you can't talk without screaming in each other's ears

A Diamond In The Rough

by mbroughton at Citysearch

Thanks Citysearch, Bliss Bar is the best! Though it's located in the heart of the hard to find a parking space Noe Valley........... Bliss Bar and its owner Pierre along with his staff were wonderful. I recently hosted an intimate birthday celebration in the Blue room. All of my guest truly fell in love with Bliss. The space was absolutely wonderful and our server was fantastic. This was a birthday celebration I will remember for years to come.

I definitely will host future events here. Bliss Bar is the place to go on a date, with friends, or even host your next party there. I highly recommend it!

  • Pros: Great service and nice crowd

Gotta Have a Mojito!

by kurlieeegirlie at Citysearch

I've been here countless times and the reason is simple...Thier Mojitos! They are amazing, not too sweet and not watered down. The bar is always a super casual vibe with hip clients in thier 20s and 30s. Sometimes it's hard to find a seat so it's great for a 2 or 3 person night out. Plus you gotta check out the Caged room in the back. I say Fantastic place to hang out, talk, and have some great drinks.

  • Pros: not too noisey
  • Cons: parking on the weekends

OK music, OK martinis, Killer Bellinis

by adennisla at Citysearch

I have been here 4 times and each time it's gotten a bit better. The first time was awful so that isn't saying a lot! I went on a completely dead night and went up to the bar, money in hand, and proceeded to be ignored. The bartender washed glasses, served a couple of guys, washed some more glasses, and then she looked over me to ask my boyfriend (who was back against the wall behind me) if she could get him anything. Another night that I went it was pretty dead, but the service was better, and a few times that I've gone it was pretty packed. For being a martini bar they do not have a very extensive martini menu, but watch out for their bellini, it packs a punch! The bellini, and the fact that I can walk home will inevitably bring me back to Bliss.

  • Pros: decor, DJ, neighborhood
  • Cons: drink menu, unpredictable service
