green hotel. I work with a non-profit - we held a meeting here because this hotel has obtained the Green Seal Cert. and Green Building Cert - friendly and helpful staff - we had a perfect meeting and great lunch
Probably the best Boutique Hotel in town.
Not much curb appeal, but the rooms are superb. Spacious, Pan-Asian decor; DVD/CD players (with free DVD rentals); super-comfy platform beds.
Great staff; very friendly...they WILL remember your name!
Free breakfast buffet - nice touch.
You get a lot for the money here!
An intimate luxury hotel offering modern panache in a traditional setting..
The Scene
Just blocks from Union Square and the Chinatown Gate, this boutique property offers a refreshing atmosphere. Rather than take up residence in an old structure, as most other hotels in the area have done, it made its home in a newly erected building. Its clean architecture puts a contemporary spin on San Francisco's signature Victorian style.
The Details
Inside, personalized touches abound, beginning with a bronze-cast statue of "Spring Awakening" in the lobby. The cozy guest rooms feature a palette of warm colors, which contrast strikingly with black and white photographs of local landmarks. Custom-made furnishings from Balinese wood add a colonial feel to the residential tone. CD/DVD systems and two telephones (one cordless) are a few of the tech-friendly amenities. Among the hotel's highlights is Vignette, serving French-influenced, California regional cuisine. Business niceties include an executive board room and a courtesy town car on weekdays to the Financial District.
Good value. Great price, decent location, nice, clean rooms that were a decent size. Aveda products in the bathrooms, which were really big and spacious. Complimentary breakfast is very convenient, although it's very bare-bones and the juices tasted funny. The only glitch in our whole stay was the 75 cent local call someone seemed to have made from our room phone, although the front desk was happy to deal with that for us.
Wonderful Experience. The Orchard Hotel is a wonderful place to stay. I HIGHLY recommend you give this place a try. It is very reasonably priced, the staff and service is fantastic, the rooms are HUGE, comfortable, elegant, and new, they have free DVD rentals for the times you want to stay in and relax, and you can't ask for a better location! When my wife and I return to the City, we will only stay here from now on. Trust me, you can't go wrong!
GREAT FIND!. We found The Orchard Hotel on the internet and took a chance. This boutique hotel is a gem! The rooms are spotless and the bathrooms are beautiful! They give you a wonderful free breakfast every morning and the location could not be better. There is a trolley stop right oustide and the bellman are always ready to help you with directions or to hail you a taxi. If you are in the process of researching hotels, let the search end here!
Best Boutique Hotel in SF. Everything about the Orchard is first rate, from its location, to decor, to amenities, and its restaurant, Solea. Business or pleasure, doesn't matter..this hotel is upscale, comfortable, yet affordable. And the staff is actually friendly, and nice!! which may be tough to find around town, depending on your luck.
Utmost 10!. This hotel is fabulous. The rooms are clean, the bathrooms spacious, and the staff are very courteous and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.
