by sliki at Citysearch
Not much curb appeal, but the rooms are superb. Spacious, Pan-Asian decor; DVD/CD players (with free DVD rentals); super-comfy platform beds.
Great staff; very friendly...they WILL remember your name!
Free breakfast buffet - nice touch.
You get a lot for the money here!
- Pros: Location; spacious and well-appointed rooms; great staff
- Cons: Halfway up Nob Hill...you better be in good shape!
Good value

Great price, decent location, nice, clean rooms that were a decent size. Aveda products in the bathrooms, which were really big and spacious. Complimentary breakfast is very convenient, although it's very bare-bones and the juices tasted funny. The only glitch in our whole stay was the 75 cent local call someone seemed to have made from our room phone, although the front desk was happy to deal with that for us.
- Pros: location, value
- Cons: , views from lower floo

The Orchard Hotel is a wonderful place to stay. I HIGHLY recommend you give this place a try. It is very reasonably priced, the staff and service is fantastic, the rooms are HUGE, comfortable, elegant, and new, they have free DVD rentals for the times you want to stay in and relax, and you can't ask for a better location! When my wife and I return to the City, we will only stay here from now on. Trust me, you can't go wrong!
- Pros: Location, The Rooms, The Price

We found The Orchard Hotel on the internet and took a chance. This boutique hotel is a gem! The rooms are spotless and the bathrooms are beautiful! They give you a wonderful free breakfast every morning and the location could not be better. There is a trolley stop right oustide and the bellman are always ready to help you with directions or to hail you a taxi. If you are in the process of researching hotels, let the search end here!
