Loved the Bartender – We visited San Francisco on our honeymoon and were dissapointed by so many things, but the Bamboo Hut was a highlight for my husband and I. The bartender was AWESOME, she deserves a raise!
awesome neighborhood bar... – i just moved to San Francisco (north beach), and with so many bars and clubs to entertain me, i'm glad to have the hut in my neighborhood...everyone there is so friendly and the atmosphere is relaxing. nick and lauren are very friendly, as are all the locals...it reminds me of a tiki bar that i love from back home- plus it's crawling distance from my place!
Great decor! Tiki Heaven! – I love the atmosphere in this bar. It's been awhile since I have been back. But the decor still sticks in my head. Puffer fish lamps, scorpion drink platters great music on Thursday nights. When you head to the bar, ask for Lauren!
All around amazing. – You are going to have a good time when you go there. Nick, the owner, knows how to take care of his customers. He also sets the atmosphere by having fun with his job.
The other main bartender is Lauren. She rocks. Without a doubt the hardest working, friendliest, bartender I have met. She is always smiling and having fun.
I've been to afew of the other bars local to broadway, and the hut just has the atmosphere where you want to stay for more than afew drinks.
Friday and saturday nights the dj gets going, and the hut gets jumping! I have a great time, everytime.
ONE OF THE BEST BARS IN THE CITY – The Bamboo Hut rocks because of the people, the alcohol service and great music. Foreigners and regulars love this place. The bartenders and bouncers are the sweetest people and they will take care of you if youj're a good person. I totally recommend this place. It's also near many other bars and clubs as well, so check it out. You will see me there.
All you have to do is walk in the door and you will realize just what your other bar experiences have been failing to provide. Imagine this; you start off getting all the logistics out of the way first, ie. small security station where your id has to be shown (in order to prove your not some underage teen looking to drink for free for the night) and as you walk into the bar for the first time you start to hear the rumble of the DJ?s upbeat music directly followed by a small entrance path that leads you onto the dance floor, followed in close proximity (for all you non dancers) to the neatly tended straw/hay covered bar that?s overhang looks like it belongs directly on a commercial on beach front property. About that time, you will start to notice the details that one only sees from the inside view of the bar looking out towards the street at all the other potential customers. For example the same neatly tended straw/hay covering is also located on the lower half and strung though out the rest of the facility. You have a consistent amount of what seem to be palm trees on and around all sides of bar. They have surf bards hanging and other ornaments above the small, but usable seating section. The staff never stands still, from the time you enter until the time you leave or until last call, they are there taking orders and making sure you have exactly what you are in the mood for. For you drinkers who prefer more of a layed back approach, there is a small VIP room towards the back of the facility. It?s been known to fill out very quickly and should be reserved ahead of time. Last but not least you have the bar tenders them selves who are down to earth, like to have a good time, are very outgoing and have no problem striking up conversation and getting to know you. The Bamboo Hut should be your favorite place to have a good time, ever time. Although this is my first post on this particular web site I look forward to further adventures. Thank you
THE BEST PLACE TO MEET THE BEST PEOPLE.. OH AND HAVE A DRINK TOO – First I like to start by saying that the staff is the friendliest happy go luck staff of any bar in the city. Yes I know that's a bold statement but a deserving one to say the least The selection of drinks are fantastic. I would recommend that if your in the city or the east bay you put this on your list of places to stop bye.

North Beach party animals gulp tropical drinks and groove to DJs in this island-style bar. – In Short
From the giant tiki god guarding the entrance to the bamboo- and grass-covered bar, this small cocktail lounge is an island unto itself among the glitter and sleaze of Broadway. Paper blowfish lamps hang dimly over large upholstered booths along the back wall. A DJ booth is perched near an open area up front. A wide range of fun music happens late night; but the place is usually too crowded for dancing.
Fun place... – The place is small, dim and it can get crowded but it is can be fun. They play some pretty good tunes (I think there are different themes on different nights). Drinks are rpetty good, and prices are pretty average.
The location is really good too, if you don't like it here, or if you get tired and are ready for a change of scene there are plenty of other bars literally a few steps away. But be ware of Broadway street. Boy are there some characters walking it, and do NOT walk it alone at night if you are a girl. You won't get hurt (it's safe), but you might get man handled!
