One of my faves!.
I know there are tons of other places to eat in this city, but I absolutely love this place. I know sometimes the service is a little lacking, and the wait seems like an eternity in the mobs of people, but the food is delicious and plentiful.
I've been to many other places but this will always remain one of my faves. The specialty drinks, the appetizers, sweet corn cakes, tex-mex eggrolls, the never ending salads...and I don't even like cheesecake but the dulce de leche one is killer.
I think I have been to every Cheesecake Fac. in CA, and in NV, and they remain consistent.
To say that you can get better cheesecake at Jack in the Box is blasphemy! Who even eats at that place anyway? Gross!
Never again!. The place was crowded but expected. The only thing I didn't expect was to wait a hour and 45 mins to be seated. We got our drinks and order in fairly quickly. We were starving by then. We waited for another 45 mins before our food was brought to our table. Wasn't there suppose to be some bread for us to munch on while we wait? Nothing. When we got our food, it was luke warm. I paid $28 for a steak and it was tasteless. I could've gotten a REAL steak at Chris Ruths. We give it one more chance and order their cheesecake, Jack in the Box has better tasting cheesecakes. So overall, we paid $100 for an average meal and the waiting. We should have just ate IN N OUT! Oh one more thing, they don't do reservations but who cares we not going back there again.
Tasty Food with a Rooftop View. This place is your typical tourist trap the wait was long (about an hour) & every tourist thats downtown seems to be there. I have eaten at many Cheesecake Factorys so let me say that the menu goes on for days, not including the cheesecake! EVERYTHING IS TASTY. The wait staff was friendly & attentive. My personal favorite is the chicken & biscuits. Mounds of delicious, heavenly mashed potatoes, chicken, biscuits, & gravy that make you want to jump on a Stairmaster after your meal has settled. The view from the outside patio (floor 8 of Macy's) has a stunning view of tall buildings, shops, & the Christmas tree in the square. SMOKING IS OK OUTSIDE since Cali has banned it in bars & restaurants. Try one of the long island iced teas get your bang for the buck & put a little kick in your shopping extravaganza.
Good but feels like a Food Factory!. Have stopped in several times while shopping in Union Square, waits are typically 45mins and up. Once you're seated, service is efficient and quick. The menu is huge, pastas, pizzas, chicken and seafood, basic American food with Asian/Mex/Italian twists. The sliders appetizer is good as was the Chicken chop with mashies, nothing outstanding. Portions are huge so I never make it to dessert. Decor is decent and there is a nice heated patio with a great view. Overall a good spot if you can deal with the wait and flood of tourists
big yum. While the food isnt anything special, you do get a lot of it. The service for me has been spot on and they carry a good selection of beers. Oh and they're rumored to have some very good cheesecakes.
LOTS OF CHOICES/LONG WAIT. If you are dining with picky people this place is for you. There is something on the menu for nearly everyone (lots of chicken). The cheesecakes (and the food) are average but there are lots of choices. Serving sizes of everything are generous so be careful how you order or there will be leftovers. This place does not take reservations. If you go during the early part of the week the wait isn't as long compared to from Thurs on. Frankly, there are too many places in the city to wait 90 min to 2 1/2 hours. It's too easy to go to either Daily Grill or Max's (which does the lots of choices big portion thing as well) to wait for the kind of food this is.
I love this Place!.
There is something on the menu for all tastes, the list of food they have is intense. Each time I order, I always find something else I want to come back for to try. You can easily make this a dinner place or just an after work drinks and appitizer place.
I went there for my birthday and ended up sitting on the roof, over looking union sqaure. It was beautiful. Two days later, we ended up going back to the Cheesecake Factory because we had such a great impressionThe cheese cake is also great. I love the banana cheesecake. And no matter how easy it is to make, the fact is your in the city out to dinner, not cooking in your kitchen at home.
LOOOONG WAIT!. Their food was okay -- not worth the price. The cheesecake was BLECH -- the cheesecake I make is WAAAY better than their's.
Good start to San Francisco experience. While slightly crowded, we found the fast pace and responsiveness of the staff to be better than expected. The food itself was only slightly better than average, but the appetizers were excellent and the cheesecakes were out of this world!! Well worth the money spent on those!!!
Tasty.... Yes, the Cheesecake Factory is very touristy but they offer a huge selection which is great when you aren't quite sure what you want. Plus with the huge portions you can save half for lunch the next day. For those reviewers asking "where do you park?"...um maybe in the parking garage across the street? Also - for those of you not content to wait (and it can be a loooong time - we walked out on one occassion) you can get the cheesecake to go in about 5 minutes. The thai chicken pasta is delicious...
