In Short
Touching, climbing, constructing, riding, and learning are just a few of the things the Bay Area Discovery Museum has in store at its 20,000-square-foot museum. Featuring a picturesque view of the Golden Gate Bridge, the family-oriented museum lets kids experiment with computers, ceramics, a darkroom, an "underwater" tunnel, and a science lab housing live animals.

A great children's museum set in a beautiful location at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge, with a great variety of activities for kids ages 1-10. My kids particularly enjoy the outdoor area with the look-out crow's nest, the model of the GG Bridge, the musical frogs and the willow branch house. They also really enjoy the indoor train set and fishing boat. The outdoor toddler area is extra special and my son was especially disappointed when he could no longer go there. We visit CA every summer, and both my kids make sure we visit this museum every year. Even the adults enjoy this place! You can bring a picnic lunch or food is available for sale at a small restaurant. Better to eat early or late and avoid the lunch hour rush.

A very nice day out in an outstandingly scenic landscape. Plenty of hands-on science and art fun for kids 0-7. Wandering musicians and drop-in activities make this a great bet for a full day of fun. Highly recommend.

THis is a children's museum with plenty of hands on activites for you little ones. I think the cut off age here woudl be around 11 or 12. Our kids love the ship that you can climb on and ususally spend a lot of time there.
